Guest guest
Deb, Yes, he was a smoker,he started when he was young with those lucky strike with no filters, he smoked cigarettes for years, but for the last maybe 20,25 years he has smoked a pipe, but does still inhale. .today the pulmonary doc decided to let him come home tomorrow to allow his leg to stabalize(bloodclot). There going to put him on antibiotics as well as keeping him on the blood thinners for about a week. Then he will go and have the PET scan done, then make arrangements for the lung biopsy. The vascular surgeon said even if it is malignant he wouldn't do any surgery for at least 3 weeks, until that bloodclot stabalizes anyway. Right now thank GOD, it is very small, whatever it is, it may be a tumor or scar tissue, but they are leaning towards tumor,as they can find no other cause for these bloodclots occuring. Thats the update for now, Thanks everyone, for your prayers! Guest guest
, Thats right!!! Now, Dad came home yesterday. They decided to let him come home and get the leg stable before doing the scan and biopsy, because they wouldn't be able to do anything surgically anyway while the bloodclot is still in a position of possibly moving. So it makes it alot easier for me to not have to run to the hospital. He's still unsteady on his legs but I think it will get better each day. Guest guest
Deb, Thanks,He is going to be monitored weekly, bloodwise. The doc said he's going to give it a month, then get the scan done. But he's not doing to well. Breathing heavy, and if he takes to deep a breath its painful, and forget it if he has to cough, unbearable pain. He's very unsteady on his legs, all the things he wanted to come home for, he hasn't felt up to doing. But I think just being home helps him, so if this is where he wants to be, so be it. I'm just scared, cause I'm not strong enough to catch him or keep him from falling if it happens. I left a message with the nurse today, I had to take him to the office already for a blood test, about the pain, in leg, and breathing pain, bevcause the doc wasn't in. We also see him on tues. this week coming anyway,so its not like its to far down the road. Thanks again! > >Reply-To: RSD-CRPSofAmerica >To: RSD-CRPSofAmerica >Subject: Re: /Dad >Date: Thu, 07 Nov 2002 13:14:10 -0000 > > > So it makes it alot easier for me to >not have to run to the hospital. He's still unsteady on his legs but I >think >it will get better each day. > >Hi , >I am so happy your Dad is okay and home. >It is hard running back and forth to the hospital for healthy people >let alone people with RSD.
