Guest guest
Kat, read your post about waiting on the endoscopy. I greatly appreciate your input and personal experience and I'm sorry that you had to go through the perforations. Wow. Right now, I'm just so uncomfortable that I've just got to get this done. I am getting liquids down but not without discomfort/pain. It is getting worse. I'm very, very grateful to be able to get some liquids/protein drinks in. Yesterday was 3 protein shakes, water, tea and licks of a spoon with a creamy crab soup on it. Plus my vitamins, of course. Today...I'm nursing protein drink two on the day and had a few licks off of a fork that had some moist grits on it. I'm just plain hungry and want some sustance but cannot. Argh! LOL! Of course, it hasn't helped that we were away overnight with a bunch of VA folks from OH. We had a nice luncheon in Richmond and then went out last night. Rich and I bailed before the dancing. I felt not so great and he is nursing a shoulder injury (weightlifting gone bad) and a recently repaired ingrown toenail. Kathy
Guest guest
i meant to ask you .. do you know how far into surgery you can develop a stricture ? for example if i am 4 months out or say 5 months out .. is it very unlikely i would develop a stricture ? i am just curious .. thanks

Guest guest
I dont know..what does your surgeon say? It is usually caused by scar tissue from healing ..how long have you felt this way? My symptoms were very specific..I would eat alittle solid food and then get this gassy feeling in my esophagus so I would stop. Then I couldnt swallow my spittle so I would start spitting ..this would last for 45 min and then I would vomit..very strenuously. This made me stop eating anything solid for quite a while!!LOL Berk Re: Endoscopy tomorrow i meant to ask you .. do you know how far into surgery you can develop a stricture ? for example if i am 4 months out or say 5 months out .. is it very unlikely i would develop a stricture ? i am just curious .. thanks
