Guest guest
Kat, read your post about waiting on the endoscopy. I greatly appreciate your input and personal experience and I'm sorry that you had to go through the perforations. Wow. Right now, I'm just so uncomfortable that I've just got to get this done. I am getting liquids down but not without discomfort/pain. It is getting worse. I'm very, very grateful to be able to get some liquids/protein drinks in. Yesterday was 3 protein shakes, water, tea and licks of a spoon with a creamy crab soup on it. Plus my vitamins, of course. Today...I'm nursing protein drink two on the day and had a few licks off of a fork that had some moist grits on it. I'm just plain hungry and want some sustance but cannot. Argh! LOL! Of course, it hasn't helped that we were away overnight with a bunch of VA folks from OH. We had a nice luncheon in Richmond and then went out last night. Rich and I bailed before the dancing. I felt not so great and he is nursing a shoulder injury (weightlifting gone bad) and a recently repaired ingrown toenail. Kathy

I'm not but I was doing research the other day and one doc had some statistics and he had one patient that had one at 9 months post- op. Guest guest
> yikes... hope you do well this time around and DO NOT develop a > stricture again . Thanks so much! I saw one docs statistics and it looked like about 70+% of his patients only had to have one endoscopy. My doctor did say pre-op that since they dialate it gradually...they might have to do more than one before it is just " right " . They don't want to open it too wide. This was when we were discussing complications. This happens in 10-15% of the patients, I believe. If I'm going to have a " complication " ...this is probably the one I'd prefer to a host of other things. I'm not concerned. Know folks that have been through it and know I'll feel better soon. I'll definitely be glad to be able to eat again. Protein shakes and soup alone just aren't doing it for me! Thanks again, Kathy

Guest guest
> you know Kathy > i agree with you, i dont think that my Surgery was bad either > i dont regret it .. i did great post op and so far so good still I still consider myself doing good even with this " annoyance " . I'm lucky that stuff is draining through at this point. Stuff isn't coming back up and I'm managing to keep hydrated. Two important things. Tomorrow is my *one month* rebirthday anniversary! I'm still thrilled with the whole thing and fully intend to stay that way. I'm down 24 lbs (56 overall including pre-op diet)! Very pleased! And finally my cycle started today...just 14 days late. And it has felt like it was coming most of those 14 days! Ah, hormones!!! Kathy
