Guest guest
BEV, I KNEW YOU WERE VENTING AND NOT BEGGING SO DON'T WORRY 'BOUT IT K! I HAVE HAD DOCTORS THAT HAVE THE BILL ON THE INSIDE OF YOUR CHART AND DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU OWE HIM DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH TIME HE SPENDS WITH YOU OR DOES FOR YOU. MY HUSBAND WORKS 2 JOBS TO TRY AND PAY MY MEDICAL BUT WE KEEP GETTING FURTHER AND FURTHER IN DEBT. EVEN WITH BC.BS. SO YOU NEWBIES TRYING TO GET A EARLY SETTLEMENT - TAKE IT FROM THE OLDIES - THE MEDICAL BILLS WILL KILL YOU - PROBABLY BEFORE THE RSD DOES. AND HAS ANYONE EVER GOTTEN LIFE INSURANCE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN DX'ED WITH RSD? i HAVE OPTED FOR CREMATION BECAUSE SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT IS ALL I WILL HAVE, UNLESS I DIE IN A CAR WRECK. IF I HAD OF HAD A COMPUTER TO KNOW ALL I KNOW NOW THE SETTLEMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT..PHAEDRA Beverly wrote: When I sent the info that I got back from my doctor about not doing theprocedure until I've paid my bill & talking about I didn't know what Iwas going to do about getting my meds because of my money situation. PLEASE PLEASE I was only telling you guys that to let you know theproblems some of us face with doc & etc is that the world is all aboutthe money & the patient just suffer's through the pain & misery until youpay them the money. I DO NOT & WASN'T ASKING FOR ANYTHING ESPECIALLYMONEY FOR MY DOC'S & MED'S. I pray with all my heart that this wasn'ttaken that way. I was just venting & very mad because I don't have amedical degree so I can't rip off the unfortunate patient. I'm sorry ifany of you thought that is what I was doing. Thanks for just being herefor me & listening to me gripe about anything & everything. Again I'msorry if this was taken the wrong way please forgive me. Guest guest
Bev Excuse me for jumping in but have u tried all the free med places? I dont know your situation as far as your income and also your hubbys but I am a widow on SSD only and have found lots of places to get help with my very very expensive meds. As for SS payment when u die, it is only 255 and it is only for the surviving spouse My family wont even get that cause I get it for my husband. If you want to write me privately about your income I will try to see if I can help you Been on these meds for almost 11 years now Ma rgie in NC

Guest guest
Bev, If I can remember to, I'll pick you up this pamphlet I can get at the Human Services office. All you have to do is fill it out, send like $5 per prescription med that you need, and that is what it costs you if I remember right....... I have your mailing address already, so If I can tattoo it on my brain, I'll send it to ya! I know that it will have to help ya out and be cheaper than what you pay now! Guest guest
I can tell ya the income caps on Medicaid, at least here in Iowa.....and they are all different for each state, but are still within the same ranges. For a family of 4, the most you can make a month is $1450......for a single person, its only $300. They also go by what you own......you can't own a vehicle more than $4500 blue book value, your house, utility bills (lights, water, garbage, telephone), property taxes, all of that goes towards counting what your income is a month. See, they screwed up on ours a couple of years ago. We heat with a wood stove, and only have a window air conditioner.....which both are considered seperate from the other bills. Well, they went and put it in with something else, and we had someone come in and check the house out.....which meant we ended up getting more in food stamps and heating assistance, plus the back years worth. The utilities, property taxes, past 3 months of medical bills that are unpaid are all deducted some how from your income.....a percentage of those are. What adds to your income is the vehicles, any additional property....whether it be just ground not being used, but not attached to your house property, rental house, farm ground.......any inheritances, lawsuit money, CD's, saftey deposit boxes......(anything you would have at the bank)...... I think that is it.....not positive though.
