I'll pray for you. I've been waiting for 1.5 years for SSI disabiltiy and have no hope of seeing it until at least March of 2007. It's only by the grace of my Mother-in-law letting us move in with her, that we have a roof over our head. My Wife works, but with our medical bills and her needing to pay 100% of our heath insurance it's not enough for us to even pay our Mom any rent. Could you get a Reverse mortgage on the home, that would allow you to stay there? Maybe someone else has better experience they could help you with. I will say we used a free community appointed lawyer to help us get food stamps, he was very helpful, and free. Dave & Laurie
Guest guest
Dee, In your loan on your house is there not an allowance for when you are unable to work that helps you pay the house note?? check into that before you sell it. Most mortage companys have that included in financed homes. Also if you Have a 401 k plan where you work you can also borrow against that. WC is a pain to fight with. and not only that they also will send out private investegators to watch you. Check into any life insurance policy you may have also you may be able to borrow against them too. I would also consider renting before I would sell my home. My heart goes out to you. I have fought for 3 years to get my ssdi and just got it this July. I lost my land but thankfully my mobile home was paid for and I just moved it into a rental lot estate. Guest guest
Hi Dee sorry to hear things have gotten so bad for you. Is there anyway you could take in a room mate? someone to help you with expenses so you wouldn't have to loose your home?? Seems like there has to be somehing you could do. Have you talked to your bank to see if there is anything they could do to help you? Will Keep you in my prayers. Sharon Group Owner > > > I am so upset right now. This injury has kept me from working, and now finances are so bad that I have to sell my house, quickly. It's the house I grew up in, and my mother left me when her share when she died last year. I had to buy out my siblings, so I have a big note, big for a person with only worker's comp income. Even knowing about my injury, they made me pay them off. Double hurt. > > I'm trying to get a settlement from WC, just to have some money to live on until I can sell the house, but they are being awful. Does anyone have any experience with worker's comp? Guest guest
Thank ya'll for the support. I live with my sister and her disabled son, she can't work with all of his needs. I had been the family support. Sometimes, I'm strong, and then sometimes, like yesterday morning I feel it's the end of the world. Life is such a struggle. Then I just heard on the news that somebody was paying $2000 for a Saints football game ticket. It would be great to have money to blow on fun. I hope to get back to feeling glad one day. I got a call today from my attorney that the WC insurance agreed to settle, less than a year's salary. I said I would take it, but that's hardly enough to live on and have surgery, meds, and therapy. But I have to think of what we need now. So actually, I'm in a better mood today. Within a month I should have something. Again thank ya'll for all the kindness. Guest guest
I've had RA for 6 yrs and am currenly on MTX, plaquenil prednisone folic acid and relefan. In the past month I've had increased neck hip and back pain and now a pinched nerve, probably herniated disk in my neck. (I haven't done the MRI yet. I did blood work today and the only abnormal is a high WBC which is chronic fro the prednisone. My sed rate and CRP were in the NORMAL range. My question is why do I feel so horrible if my labs are normal. I see my rheumie on Monday but he is unlikely to adjust meds with a normal sed rate and CRP. Guest guest
We all respond to medicine differently. I felt horrible on plaquenal. I personally, feel much better on sulfasalazine. susan <sasupbin@...> wrote: I've had RA for 6 yrs and am currenly on MTX, plaquenil prednisone folic acid and relefan. Guest guest
Hi , It makes me wonder if perhps on top of your arthritis you have developed Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis in 1990 and could hardly move. After being on strong meds for some years I improved slightly. Then in 1995 I was hurting all over and felt absolutely horrible, upon my visit to the rheumi it was discovered I had developed FM as well. Perhaps it might be worth mentioning. Hope you get some answers on Monday, and hope you feel better soon. Sue [ ] falling apart I've had RA for 6 yrs and am currenly on MTX, plaquenil prednisone folic acid and relefan.
