Matt,

Yes, I have trouble sometimes with my shoulders. I try to be careful not to

pick up or carry things that are too heavy.

I find that warm showers, using a massager and keeping myself propped up

helps. I also do shoulder exercises. I sometimes take Tylenol for the

pain.

Oh, yes! Even though it was my fingers, wrists, and hips that were first

affected, my shoulders are now screaming, especially when I work. And

it's this deep, 'wet' pain.

I also have horrible neck pain, I thought it was from my deformed

cervical spine and the scoliosis in my thorasic spine, but who knows,

maybe it's the RA?

I hope you can find some relief...

Jeff,

I hope this message comes through, some don't and some do.

Glad you are home and hope this gets better every day. I suspect you will be

eventually doing PT.

I can't imagine looking forward to a second one. But I couldn't believe I would

do a knee either and they are both done.

Just a short message to keep you busy reading!! And your spirits up. Don't

worry about typing. You will soon be doing that.

well i had my right reverse shoulder replacement wednesday and was home late

thursday afternoon. haven't been able to type much of anything till now, but

this surgery has been quite different from my knee experience and the info i

have read here on hips. there's absolutely no restrictions on movements other

than the entire right arm is totally immobilized and driving is also out. it's

been quite painful but seems to be improving somewhat every day now. continous

sleep is next to impossibleas every hour or so i've been woken by the pain, or

possibly any very small movement, but as long as i see gradual improvement i'm

happy knowing i'm closer to getting the left one done

many thanks to those that sent along positive thoughts.

donna,

thanks. well when the pain is so bad that the only solution is a replacement i

just don't see any point in not wanting it done asap. the hospital will be

sending someone to do pt at home starting tomorrow and they gave me a few

exercises to start on  while i was still in the hospital. worse part is arm is

totally immobile for 4 weeks
