Guest guest Posted September 7, 2006 Report Share Posted September 7, 2006 Human Development Resource Network (HDRN), a Delhi-based non-profit organization, which manages YouandAIDS, the HIV and AIDS portal for Asia Pacific, solicits applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the following posts. Post 1: Content-Editor/Sub- Editor Duty station: Chennai: At present, the post is open to candidates who can operate from home on a full time basis. Duties and responsibilities: •In coordination with HDRN, edit and upload content to the portal on HIV and development issues on a systematic and timely basis; •Coordinate with development agencies, PLWHA organizations, NGOs, UN agencies, bilateral organizations, Foundations and International NGOs, media etc and enhance the content, information and services of the portal; •Undertake editorial responsibilities as assigned by HDRN; •Undertake writing assignments as and when required. Qualifications and competencies: •Masters degree or equivalent; •Excellent command over written English; •At least five years of hands-on experience in sub-editing/writing in a publishing house or media organization; •Command over publishing style and standards; •Experience in /exposure to HIV and related issues, human development, poverty, human rights, gender etc.; •Ability to capture/analyse data and research findings and convert them to reports and articles; •Ability to write/edit/handle research reports; media releases; •Experience in online medium desirable. Post 2: Consultants (writing/editing) Responsibility: •Undertake writing/editing/documenting assignments on HIV and human development issues, as and when required, for HDRN. -The selected consultants will be placed in the HDRN roster and will be hired for writing/editing/documenting assignments. -The consultants will also be employed for HDRN projects at the provincial, national and regional levels. -Kindly note that this is not a regular appointment, but will be based on the demand from time to time. Post 3: Research Assistants (part-time) Responsibility: •Research and analysis support on various issues related to HIV and human development for the portal as well as for HDRN projects. Competencies: •The candidates should have proven ability in desk-based and well as field level research; •Excellent oral and written skills in English; •The candidate should be able to design short surveys, field level studies and also analyse and produce research papers/articles using secondary data; •PhD holders or research fellows with impeccable writing skills are ideally suited for this part-time position; •Proven experience on HIV and related issues is highly desirable.
