Hi

Any bug would put strain on your adrenals, as you know, so my guess is that

you need to stress dose for three days in total as this infection/food

poisoning/whatever will require you to do that.

As for dehydration, here in the UK you can buy little sachets for

dehydration that contains sugars and salts, can you buy something like that from

the

pharmacy? That would sort that aspect out.

REST REST REST, stress dose and cover the dehyration and I reckon you will

be fine.

How much to stress dose? Iusually do 22.5 as 12.5, 5, 5.

I don't think that they have the dehydration packs here, but I think

I'm OK with that now, since I'm now able to keep things down

Heloo again

I would have thought with something like what you have that it would be fine

to double up on what you are already taking because it really takes it out

of you, doesn't?

You could maybe take a little extra salt and sugar in a glass of water if

you think that would help? oh forget the sugar, what about honey and cinnamon

with some seasalt? Might taste wierd but it will do you good.

And REST

Hi, Everyone,

Anyone know how to tell the difference between adrenal crisis and

stomach flu/foodborne illness?

Friday evening, about an hour after dinner at my sister's, I started

to feel like I was " going downhill " & feeling nauseated, so I stress

dosed. Continued feeling bad, so I went home. Good thing I only live

2 doors down, because it wasn't long before the vomitting & diarrhea

started (sorry...TMI).

Vomitting & diarrhea lasted until about 5:30am. Needless to say,

weakness ensued.

Tried to eat some soup yesterday afternoon & nothing doing...couldn't

keep it down.

Yesterday morning I started with a 100 degree fever, which is high

considering I was hovering between 96.8 & 97 prior to the fever.

By last night I was able to keep down some soup & crackers finally,

and today again a little more food.

But today I'm feeling pretty adrenal - dizzy when I stand or sit,

getting a mild feeling of " draining & coolness " in my arms & chest,

but not major like prior to HC.

Yesterday I stress dosed & today I did a little but not much. I'm

about to take a little more HC right now, as I feel " goiterish " again

- like my thyroid swells in an attempt to get some hormone out there.

And, my vision is slightly blurry.

This is the time that I really wish I had a good dr to call.

While I was sick the other night, I thought about the ER for a couple

of minutes, because I was afraid of dehydration, especially since I

couldn't even keep a couple of sips of water down.

I ruled that out when I realized that I probably couldn't make it

there without a pit stop AND that I didn't want to be nursing my

condition in the waiting room!

Also considered calling the squad, in an effort to " expedite " being

seen in the ER, since the last time I went in with a suspected adrenal

crisis, I sat in the waiting room for a couple of hours & finally left

when I started feeling better. Decided at that point that if I ever

needed to go in again, it would need to be with the paramedics! (LOL!

That's a helpful tip for all of you adrenal types out there!)

Ultimately, I suspect that this was foodborne illness, although no one

else got sick...but no one else's health is like mine right now.

But then when I feel " adrenal " after the fact, who knows. What to do?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Warmly,

OK...and yes, it really does suck the life out of you!

I am resting...can't you tell from my typing that I'm flat on my back?

LOL!

I've been in bed since Friday night...not even sitting up, because I'm

feeling lightheaded. So I am definitely resting. And watching hours

of HGTV.

Thanks Mo!

Yes it is like a short, sharp shock but it does not feel short when it is

happening but it certainly feels sharp and shocking which it is.

Like flu condensed into a shorter time period except symptosm are not quite

the same but I imagine the effect on the adrenals is similar, don't you?

Isn't day-time television wonderfuuuuuuuuuul?

Mo

ps I won't knock it, day-time TV, kept me sane for many a year. Well

sane(ish)!
