Guest guest
My daughter's skin has become extremely sensitive to the material in lots of her clothes. This happened after being put on MTX. Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything that can help it? She is having a hard time finding clothes that don't make her skin feel like she's in an itchy wool sweater, two sizes too small.. It's not a sun issue because here in western Washington this time of year we hardly see the sun!!!

Covered my back with bandaids and found out I am allergic to the adhesive! A red, horrible itchy rash! What other drugs is she taking? I live in Gig Harbor, which Rheumy is she using? Pris, who got some GREAT anti itch cream from her dermie! ************************************** Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Guest guest
Pris, Bob had a horrible rash around his waist and all that his internist said was to use an OTC hydrocortisone cream so would you mind sharing the name of the cream that your dermatologist prescribed so I can file it away for future reference since it would not surprise me for his rash to resurface? Hugs to Nellie and you. Guest guest
Hello! I'm not on methotrexate yet, but I have really sensitive skin since becoming ill. I wash everything before I wear it, and I use hypoallergenic detergents (all makes one), and I also try to use shower gels that are fragrance free and do not have any dyes in them. Sometimes this helps somewhat. I hope she finds some relief soon! --- willowspirit26 <willowspirit26@...> wrote: > My daughter's skin has become extremely sensitive to > the material in > lots of her clothes. But IT WORKS! First time I have ever had one that does, hydrocortisone was worthless for me. When I rubbed it on, I itched more! The action of rubbing it on stimulated the itch. Guest guest
I guess the hyper-sensitivity may be inevitable. She's had sensitive skin for years anyway. She uses the All detergent with no fragrances, etc. in it and has for a couple years. Also has been seeing a dermatologist for dry, sensitive skin for about 4 or 5 years. It was really bad when she lived in Minnesota during the winters. So she's already had to be careful about skin products and laundry soaps, but hasn't had the fabric issue happen before. I am going to her next doctor's appt with her so will see what he says.... Vicki > > > My daughter's skin has become extremely sensitive to > > the material in > > lots of her clothes. Guest guest
Pris, Thank you. I placed it (the name Clobetasol) in Bob's file just in case. Guest guest
Be extremely careful of that Clobestesal. Don't use it too long or too often. My derm perscribed it for me for a non-arthritic condition and it's potent. Works, put very potent. She wanted me to use it every day and the pharmicist darn near had a heart attack! > > > > > > > Bob had a horrible rash around his waist and all that his internist said > > was > > to use an OTC hydrocortisone cream so would you mind sharing the name of the > > cream that your dermatologist prescribed>>>> > > > > It is Clobetasol .05 and very potent, you can only use it for 2 weeks. > But IT WORKS!
