Subject: what are your coping techniques

I'm curious, what do you all do on those days when you feel you could eat the wall if given the chance?

,

I EAT, but I try to eat good things, grilled chicken, a protein bar, soy nuts, or I drink herbalife protein fruit drink mix or a shake or other products to help curb my appetite. Sometimes hunger is really thirst, try drinking more and see if that helps.

Fondly,

Benita

you could eat the wall if given the chance?

I've had a ton of reasons to be quite hungry today from

hormonal changes to stress to bad habitual eating. I've done

a very good job so far of keeping things under control by

having tuna with mayo and 1 oz cheese at breakfast, a big

salad (I mean big, half a bag of lettuce w/3 cherry tomatoes

cut in quarters with chicken and steak bits and an ounce of

cheese with walden farms honey dijon dressing) at lunch,

followed by some mixed nuts (not a lot, less than an ounce)

and right now I'm eating another big salad before I have a

meeting for work, then I have to race off to an Avon meeting

and I have to admit, I would be very tempted to grab a fast

food burger on the way home. (basically, up at 5:30,

breakfast at 6:30, lunch at 11:30, dinner at 4:30, burger at

10pm after a meeting. I don't know, I guess this isn't really

a lot, and it actually sounds pretty good, but I know that if

I weren't being *VERY* conscious about it I would very much

like to eat a whole lot more. I feel like I could eat a 24oz.

porterhouse with all the extras and still want desert. In

your opinions, do you think this change has something to do

with the water I've been retaining lately? Hrm. (and before

someone asks, yes I drank my water. I drink a gallon and a

half a day)

I eat, what else can I do? Certain days I'm just STARVED, all day, I've been doing this awhile now and I can't see any triggers (like a sweet salad dressing might set me off) I just need food, I'm so hungry I could cry...literally, like after supper (Meat/ salad cooked mushrooms) I can hold off til 7ish, then sit down and eat 7 chicken legs with 1/4 cup of hotsauce , an ounce of cream cheese (yes, just like that, I hate cheeses except hot, or cream :) then a plate of pepperoni with melted cheese...yes I'm drinking the water and eating my snacks...a day like that and my weight goes up, I'm desperately stuck over 170 (173 today *sob*) I think myself, I'd eat more protein if I were you, that curbs the attack, and for myself, a good spoonful of crunchy peanut butter always seemed to ease my 2 pm rampage..

I find that cooking up a big mess of finger foods usually helps. I'll fry

up some shortribs in butter with hot peppers, or do up a mess of zipper back

tiger shrimp cooked in butter with lemon and garlic and hot peppers, or do a

big mess of chicken wings in the oven. Something that you have to roll up

your sleeves to eat and keeps you busy for about an hour - and is mostly

just protein!

And if that doesn't work, I'll often go for a walk. Or drink about 32 oz.

of water. Or mix up butter/peanutbutter/splenda/cocoa/whipping cream into a

squishy mess.

Hi !

I think it's normal to want to eat more - in fact actually eat more - when

women are close to their period. Sorry if that's a little personal! :D

Hey, our bodies work HARD getting ready for, um, you know, and it needs (and

craves) more calories.

Water retention is what gave me the idea about PMS hunger.... Also - your

salad dressing has HONEY in it! I'll bet that's helping fuel your hunger

and/or cravings!

Just my thoughts for you.

I eat any thing legal until I am full and I hope there are no consequences. This happens to me almost every month a week before TOM.

I know what you mean, I think some people misunderstood my first post. I'm

not craving certain foods, I'm just *STARVING*. HUNGRY. I don't have

cravings for sweets or stuff like that, I just want a *lot* more food. I

try not to give into that hunger though. Not sure why, but I do try,

doesn't always work though.

dijon mustard also has wine in it. Not wine vinegar, but wine. That is a

trigger for a lot of people also.

but I'm not having cravings. It was just a ver hungry day. I

don't eat that dressing on a regular basis or anything. I was

*HUNGRY* before I ate the dressing. Not craving. I didn't

want anything not legal. I was just HUNGRY. I wanted mass

quanties of food. I had no desire whatsoever to cheat, I just

wanted *FOOD*. It's probably hormonal because my lovely TOM

has arrived today. What I wanted to know is what people do

when this kind of thing happens. Do you resist eating and

eating and eating, if so how do you manage it? Do you just

eat a lot of a particular item? Adria had a very good mention

there by saying extra meat seemed to help her. Extra leafy

greens seem to help me.

Nan:

There is no honey in the dressing. I posted the ingredients

in another message. It's Walden Farms sugar free, fat free,

calorie free dressing, 0 calories 0 carbs 0 fat per 2

tablespoon serving. I only use 2 tablespoons and I count it

as 1 just in case. As I also stated, I'm not having cravings,

I'm just looking for what other people do when they hit that

upswing and are *VERY* hungry and they know they are exceeding

what they would normally eat.

Sorry that my message about the honey came thru so many times, my isp

was having problems and switching to a new server and somehow my

messages either would not go out or they went out several times.

Where did you find this dressing...it sounds really good.

I get hungry too and don't actually crave anything specific, but when

I do I eat tuna and mayo and it seems to fill me uo.
