Guest guest
Hi Helena, First I wish you good luck on your hysteroscopy. Second, I found that operative hystos are scheduled on specific dates in your cycle depending on your scar tissue and how extensive it is. Many are scheduled at Day 10-12 to provide optimal viewing and so the endometium isn't all soft and squishy. In my case it didn't matter because I had so much scar tissue there was nothing to see anyway and really no exposed endometrium to speak of! Dr. Indman placed me on hormone treatment to thicken up my endometrium as much as possible (this way he could easily distinguish it from the scar tissue) before surgery, other physicians don't do this and have a different approach. For me, since I was on estrogen, I had no cycle and I couldn't guess where I was in my cycle. So, I think the bottom line is that it depends on your situation (the severity and location of your lesions) and your individual doctor's approach. I wish I could give you a crystal clear answer, but like everything with Ashermans....it depends, and it's clear as mud!
