An incredible wealth of information and support on the board this

morning. Thanks to the folks who responded to my query about " mindful

eating. " Over the weekend I came to the conclusion that forcing the

" focusing on your food with no distractions " issue was one more rule I

was setting myself up to break and then feel guilty over, so I'm letting

myself eat and read or do a puzzle or whatever, while occasionally

checking in with my enjoyment of the meal.

I am probably in a honeymoon phase of IE, and I know it's not an instant

solution for me. But the freedom and self-nurturance of enjoying real

food without guilt since I honestly can't remember when is just an

amazing feeling. I'm noticing a lot of sadness too that I've been

wasting so much time and energy on these limitations, always on guard,

playing mental tricks with myself when I thought about or saw a certain

food. This is the greatest gift of IE so far
