Guest guest
Hello everybody, I am ready to go on holidays to Greece this summer and I would like to speculate on how my condition is going to be. For the ones of you who don't know or remember, I had an eventful D & C/laparotomy for retained placenta after the delivery of my now 14-month old daughter. During the attempted HSG six months ago, the dye could not go in because of scarred cervix. The doctor opened the cervix during the HSG, but still the dye could not go in. Since I am still breastfeeding my baby, I cannot proceed yet to a hysteroscopy, but I am planning to wean during the summer and probably have a hysteroscopy early Fall. So, I decided to have a series of tests and see how my present condition is. First, I discovered that most probably I have started ovulating again (oestrogen level 38). This must have happened recently, because three months ago, the levels were below 20. However, I don't know if I am having any periods. In fact, I have no signs for it. Yesterday, I checked the lining of the endometrium by vaginally probe ultrasound. I couldn't pick the appropriate day, and I have no idea which day of my cycle was (if I have a cycle). The thickness at the moment is 3mm. The doctor who performed the ultrasound said that the lining looked normal and consistent to him (I wonder what does this mean, and how much could he see) and this is usually the measurement at the beginning of a cycle, just after the period. So, he could not make any other assessment. I would like to wait and see if I would have any period or period symptoms and then, when I figure out how approximately do I stand with my cycle, I can check the thickness again. Any idea on how to check if I am having a period? For example, by checking the progesterone levels? Ah, also in the mean time, I started acupuncture. I can only have it done three times before I leave on holidays, so I don't know if it would be effective for such a short period of time. Also the acupuncturist will prescribe some herbs for after a quit breastfeeding. He didn't seem to be unfamiliar with such blockages (as he called it). Any reflection on the above? Any advice?
