Guest guest
Citrus Punch So when we say " shut the adrenals down " ....Does this mean that if we were to suddenly find ourselves without our TWENTY or so milligrams of HC that our adrenal glands wouldn't work at all, or are we saying that taking it LONG TERM will shut them down for good? I still don't quite understand what ADRENAL SUPPRESSION means and if a non-addison's person (like me) who takes 15 mgs. of Cortef per day could find herself in adrenal crisis if she were to go without her cortef. So I guess I'm wondering if adrenal crisis only can happen to 's folks or if it could also have happened to someone like Val when she was taking 30 mgs. of Cortef per day if she had just suddenly stopped or if she had gotten into a car accident and became unconscious (would she have died from adrenal crisis)..... I really need to understand all of this better. Thanks,
