Guest guest
, Yep, you are right. Weights is working out...but I do cardio every time I go to the gym, so I have to force myself to go to those dang machines and then I think of the weights as something slightly fun. Because for me, the machines are boring, but that is about all the impact I can handle right now. And weights is at least bits of different things. I think you are so right on target. You should enjoy moving your body. I think that is part of the balance of life. We were meant to move and not meant to force ourselves to move. (But for me, it's either those dang machines or depression....dang machines it is!) Enjoy your walk! Enjoy your walk! Enjoy your walk! And it is a workout! but doesn't walking sound better than working out? [sPAM] Walking , Don't you consider lifting weights as working out? I consider walking as working out. Maybe I am wrong in my definition. I have wanted to gradually increase the number of miles I walk a day but I really don't care. I just love to be out walking or in walking and if I don't label it as a need to do more than maybe it won't turn out to be a chore or something I feel I HAVE to do. Michele Ellington <rbeacheearthlink (DOT) net> wrote: Hi Michele, I am one of those people who hates working out. Hate it!! But I make myself do it. Mainly as an antidote to mild depression. I actually enjoy lifting weights though. When you are ready for it, you will be surprised how good it feels to get stronger. Go slow and steady with your workout! Don't feel inadequate. I always tell myself that a little something is better than nothing as far as workout goes. Walking is a great exercise. Hang in there with your walking-each week it gets a little easier. .. Guest guest
It does sound so much better than a work out. I used the trampoline...I love that thing. I just have to get a bit more steady on it, and then used my walking video to do a mile. It is crazy but I am doing much better with the one mile video. It doesn't seem nearly as crazy hard for me as it was before. Maybe I will be able to tackle the 2 mile again soon. That one time was enough for me. Michele n wrote: , Yep, you are right. Guest guest
Have you tried a weight-lifting class, or maybe a class or video that alternates between cardio and stregnth training? I agree, I HATE the machines! I used to force myself to use them, but stopped a year ago. I'm actually stronger than ever. I can give you some names of the ones I like, if you want to e-mail me. Also, pilates and many types of yoga are good for building stregnth. > > , > Yep, you are right.
