Hi!

I haven't post in a while but have remained active on this list as I feel

there is alot of valuable information here.

My husband was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes two years ago. Since then

he's been watching his diet and is currently on glyburide twice a day and

Metformin (generic glucophage) three times a day (500 mgs). He has gone

from a size 50 pant to a 46-48 (he's in between sizes). He's lost about 40

lbs within those 2 years which in my mind is the safest way to lose weight.

He has recently switched jobs from driving a truck all day to being in an

office now. He has noticed he is not as hungry as he used to be and last

night he barely touched the lunch I made for him. He's on swing shift now

instead of days, so instead of an 8-5 job, he is now on a 2pm - 11pm shift.

My question is I'm a little worried at his decrease in appetite. Would the

job change slow his metabolism? That is from going to a physically

demanding job to now that of a desk job, even though his job is fast paced

as he is a dispatcher for our police department.

Or is the Metformin curbing his appetite too much and perhaps he doesn't

need to take it three times a day anymore? We both realize that he will

have to go the doctor's to talk about his prescription needs, but I wanted

to start here in this forum to get some feedback. I'm worried about him,

but he claims he feels fine and he's not tired.

Thanks in advance.

Pam
