I will be the first one to admit that I hate having diabetes. I hate

having to check my blood sugar. I hate having to pass up goodies

when everybody else is indulging. I hate the battle of the bulge. I

HATE exercise. BUT... I love my family and my friends and myself. So

I decided to put my energy into a more positive approach to the

whole issue. Instead of pining away for the food I can no longer

tolerate, I look forward to eating what I can. Instead of whistfully

watching what others eat, I enjoy their company. I do my best at

keeping my weight under control, but I " forgive " myself if I'm not

always successful. I do my best to exercise, even if it's just

taking the dog for an extra 2 minute walk. But most of all I am

responsible for me and I deserve the best effort I can make. I may

not win the battle, but with God's grace I will go down with a smile

on my face. ... Just my 2 cents.
