Guest guest
Can any of you help figure out what to do about this situation. It was time for pain meds to be filled so I checked the website to see it it was ready. After several days, I called to check on it. The pharmacy tech told me it was too soon because I had ordered this med through mail order on the 04/08/2007, which I had not it was for hycroxychlorquine (plaquenil). The (people at pharmacy) were outright rude and refused to fill it without talking with my dr and the ins company. I spoke with the insurance company and at the same time, they called the pharmacy so it was a three way call, I was shocked at the way the pharmacy employees talked about me. Like I was trying to get one over on them, when it was clear that the other order was for a different medicine. Also they discussed how much medicine I had used, So my dr personally called in order for my meds yesterday, and I called about it yesterday evening, the pharmacy tech said they had not received anything yet and " don't you a bunch already " .. I was shocked, I said no and he said " well I overheard the conversation that you were having with the other tech the other day, and anyway " So I ended up having to call the rheumy on call to get some pain meds for the weekend as my lt knee was swelling and it hurt to walk. I have to take pain meds on a daily basis as this is awful for me. I am not sure who to report this to and what needs to happen. I sure seems to me that HIPAA rights had to be violated. My refill that my dr called in has still not been filled as they say that don't have it, but it shows on mychart that she called it and she called me, I didn't call her. She has always done what she said before and in light of the comments from the techs at Walgreens, I think they have, they are just not filling it. What do I do?
