Guest guest
Hello Mara. I'm with you... what is this burning sensation? I wake up with it most mornings. I would like to know if any one else gets this. and wat do you think it is? Also, does the methotrexate make you weak and extremly tired? Guest guest
Hi, The burning sensation was there as part of my pain before I was diagnosed and started meds. I imagine that it has something to do with the swelling. Mine seems to be worse in the evening after being on my feet too much. I haven't noticed much in the way of side effects from either the prednisone or the mtx. Mtx without prednisone seemed to be doing nothing to help at this point, so last week I went back on the prednisone and I see my rheumatologist today to find out where we will go with the mtx. I feel less tired now than a did a few months ago, I believe because I am sleeping better and not trying to do so much at once. Those of you who are helped by mtx, what benefits do you see? And what doesn't it do that you wish it did? The prednisone is helping my swelling, but I am still extremely inflexible in my affected joints. I would like to know if I can ever expect that to be better, with medication, therapy or exercise? Mara > > Hello Mara. I'm with you... what is this burning sensation? Guest guest
Thank you, and Steph for this info. I am sitting here and feeling a tightness and hoarseness in my throat and my voice has been deepening . . . . I am going to a new doctor in two weeks and will ask him about this - but your info has brought a lot to light. Thanks, Toni "If you would be loved, love and be lovable." lin In a message dated 9/29/2008 8:59:25 P.M. Guest guest
I have been reading your posts about the burning in the throat. When I upped my iodine I could almost feel my thyroid " draining " it felt like a sore throat. I have a history of strep, but now wonder if it might have been related to my thyroid because of all the draining from my thyroid the last couple of weeks. Every day about an hour after I took the iodine my throat would " drain " for a while and then it would get better. I don't have any problem now. kp > > no i havent but it definately has to be the iodine because within a half hour i had this weird feeling like tightness in my throat, then the burning came > > burning sensation > > > I took less than half an iodoral and I have an awful burning , > heartburn feeling that goes from my stomach all the way up to my > throat.
