Guest guest
Have you tried asking them at CT? My daughter didn't have tort so I never really researched it. Sorry, I forget, but does Sammy already have his band? How is he doing? , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com > > This might sound wierd but my wheels are turning. Guest guest
Hey . Is he a new walker, that could be why he is clumsy. Does he have frequent ear infections? If he has fluid in his ears, that could make him off balance. Check with your doctor. They could do a tympanogram to check to see if there is any fluid. By the way, I am a speech pathologist. Guest guest
, Is he being treated for either problem? The tort can certainly cause a balance issue. If the plagio is noticiable than have you thought about treatment. You are at the deadline age wise for a band. My Dominick was two months delayed in gross motor skills as a result of his plagio, after he has seen drastic improvement he is now on his way to walking at only 9 months old. I would also like you to have his eyes checked. Some babies will hold there head a certain way due to vision problems and this would also bring the clumsiness into the picture. Please have him checked by a pediatric opthamologist as soon as possible. Let me know how it goes, CAROLG > This might sound wierd but my wheels are turning. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Sammy is actually getting his DOC band on Thursday and we have been doing the exercises for his tort. But i just started putting two and two together and was wondering if the tort could have something to do with his balance issue. He has been walking since mid February so he in not a very new walker. Im gonna have to get his vision checked at his next appt and i would like to see if his ped would refer me to a therapist to work on his tort. Thanks for all the comments. Guest guest
, It could be related to the tort. Tort can cause muscle inbalances in the torso too - it starts in the neck and moves down the body. As PT improves the muscle strength in the neck and torso it can improve balance. mom to na DOC Grad www.thefilyaws.com <meli923@...> wrote: This might sound wierd but my wheels are turning. Guest guest
In your opinion, which theme park is better, Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm? I have a 15mo old, so I want to make sure she has a good time too!
Guest guest
Yes, AJ, I believe this to be the case. I was from MN, moved to northern CA, but feel my best when I am living in Southern CA.
