Guest guest Posted February 13, 2003 Report Share Posted February 13, 2003 Just to let everyone know, my daughter Bridget had her surgery this morning, she blew through it with flying colors! The Dr, was shocked as she had very little blood loss, the surgery only took 5 hours instead of ten and the had a much better result than they anticipated with the steal rods. Guest guest Posted February 16, 2003 Report Share Posted February 16, 2003 Becky, Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday, but we had a bit of a scare with her at the hospital so I have been there since late Friday. She has had a pretty high fever and it just wont stay away. First the doctor told us not to worry, that it is normal, but the she spiked one that was over 103 and thats when they brought in the ice! Guest guest Posted February 17, 2003 Report Share Posted February 17, 2003 , Thank God it doesn't appear to be an infection, but we are a little concerned that when I checked her awhile ago her bandage had bled through up around the base of her neck. We put a fresh one on and called the nurse. They said to watch her for about an hour and a half and if it goes through again get her back to the er. Like this poor kid needs to be stuck back in the wheelchair in the middle of the night and hauled back arcoss town to the er. We are crossing our fingers and praying this wont be necessary!
