Wow Krista our stories are similar. I'm 27 so we're close in age and it's a shame that we're experiencing this stuff at such young ages. I was so scared about the chest pains that I also thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the ER and they did an EKG and it came out fine but I still have the pain! Do you still have chest pain or did it go away? 'm so mad that I caused myself this pain. Hopefully once we're explanted we will both have healthy babies!

Re: nerve pain

Hi Steph- Our stories sound VERY VERY similar! My pain initiallystarted on my left side (arm, chest, shoulder, back, etc.,) but itwasn't like a normal muscle pain, it was an electric type of pain. Ididn't know what was wrong (still hadn't made the implant connectionyet.) My doctor was very worried that I had MS. I thought I was havinga heart attack! I'm only 29! The pain has now spread to my right sideand to my legs. How long as it been since your pain started? Get your explant as soonas possible because the pain does not get better, it only gets worse! Then, once you and your husband get pregnant you don't have to worryabout harming the baby! You will be free from worrying!Good luck to you and please do keep me posted!~Krista> > >> > > Krista ~ > > > Get something that is 6-8 inches high to put in front > > > of your chair at work to put your feet on, it will get> > > the weight off your lower back, and will sort of reallign> > > you, and it will help. Lynda- My husband bought tickets to the Rockies game on Monday night.

I sure hope I am feeling up to going because I do not want to

disappoint my husband, and I sure do love the Rockies!

Go Rocks!!

That is exactly what I am hoping for. They know how sick I am, so I

think they'll be able to get me in quick (at least that's what I am

hoping for.) Dr. Huang even said she'd try to get me in during an off

hour if she could! I will let you know as soon I know!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Girls ~

There are a couple things that help me

greatly. One is some advice someone gave

me. Do not let the illness define who you are.

Separate yourself from it. Since you are

dealing with a body that has issues, you have

to allow yourself permission to do things it

takes to heal it, such as sleep when you need to.

cry when you need to, laugh all you can. Meditate,

a couple times a day if you can. Learn mind control, you

can sure learn how to do a good quick relax to the bodies

muscles that way. I did it while working at lunch, I would

completely check out for about 20 minutes, and when I

woke up, it would be like I took a good long nap ! Fully

relaxed ! learn new things that you like to do, and can do, even

if it is drawing or writing.

Visualize yourself healthy, doing things you enjoy,

make plans, set goals, and realistic ones........

Talk to God, he is sitting right next to you. Pamper

yourself, breathe, try to remember to do some consious

breathing several times a day. As you breath in, visualize

God's love and warmth and healing energies going through

your body healing everything in its path, and exhale out

your mouth.

Steph- Yeah, we are very similar. I was scared about the chest pains

also. I'm not experiencing them as much as I was before, now it's more

of an all-over sort of pain. I had an EKG, a electrocardiogram, chest

x-rays, blood tests, the works to make sure I wasn't having a heart

attack! It really is a shame that ANY of us have to go through this.

We were all told these things were safe, what a joke!

I'm mad at myself too, but the only thing we can do is look to the

future. This will all be over with soon and it will all be a distant

memory. We will have our children and live happily ever after!

When is your explant surgery? What city are you having it in?

Wear long undies, warm sock, take gloves and a warm rain jacket. You

will probably need all of that.

Dede,

This was wonderful! You are amazing.

I have a special visualization that has worked so well for me lately.

I love the ocean so I visualize that I'm healthy and I'm walking

barefoot on the beach. No pain, no problems. Just God by my side.

It has worked so well for me the past few weeks.

I'll bet everyone has a special place they could go in their minds.

I love the water too, a matter of fact I am working on , or started

2 pics that I am painting that are of the beach. I dont know what

I am doing, but playing at it and enjoying it , anyway....

I am very fortunate, I have a very visual and creative mind, and

can visualize to the point I can use my senses in my special place.

It has been such a useful tool. I hope you have a nice evening !

  • 1 month later...

I have RA as well as degenerative disk disease and a bunch of other

labels that mean I have nerve pain in my legs and less frequently in my

hands and arms. I take Gabapentin, (generic form of neurontin)it is a

wonder drug for me. It seems like it either works wonders for folks or

doesn't do a thing, but it is well worth the try in my opinion. You

have to take a lot of it I am prescribed 900mg 3X a day ... I actually

take 900 mg once a day because I have difficulties with spacey feeling

I get. I am told if I took the full amount consistently I would adjust

but for now I take it as soon as I am off work at 5:00 and it is such a

blessing.
