sandy. actually, i was not kidding. i'm working thru the " folks will say

what a big butt " thing. i never laugh at anyone walking, but i keep finding

reasons not to walk.

silly, because i live in a tiny town, and i can walk the block, or over to

the college down the street with a lovely campus, or actually, in my

backyard. i'm trying to tell myself that it's much better to get to bed

early (rather than playing solitaire until the wee hours), and then get up

early when it's cool, get out walking, and then get to work. i just

haven't gotten that far yet. pat

well, i think the exercise today was good for me. and i see folks walking

by here at nite, so i may walk after dinner, or try early mornings. and

maybe, by the time it gets dark early, i will be a much thinner, healthier

person. pat

It took me a while to figure this one out...but no one really cares what you

look like...the temptation is to think that we're the Center of the World but

actually...we're not (smile)...Vicki

how appropriate. my town is nicknamed 'the center of the universe.' i'm

doing pretty good, and like i said, weaving, for the first time in months,

months, years. and it feels good.

and i had the chicken marinated in lime juice, garlic, tarragon and a little

oil. i didn't grill it, but baked it, so i added some chicken broth.

the artichokes could have stayed in the store.

BUT, the mushrooms sauteed in butter were super. and you know what, i

realize that they go good on top of a hamburger, and i can have my bacon

burger with mushrooms, and maybe broccoli rather than fries. and i'm

telling myself that i hated broiled tomatoes (with that brown sugar) because

i know that's off the menu.

summer's a good time to start this over again. and i can't wait to finally

get a credit card again, and then go the sites and get some shakes, snacks,

sweets that won't mess me up. pat

Pat,

You might start out by taking a short walk after dinner... say 10 min. and

adding 5 min. a week. In a short time, you'll be up to half an hour a day.

Sounds like you have a nice place to walk, with a college campus in your

town, and it stays light 'till late these days....

Sounds like a good plan, Pat... I'm sure you will be much healthier by the

time it starts getting dark early.
