Guest guest
, I had a naturopath do a diet consult from info I furnished him. He told me that I don't digest animal fat well and to eliminate that type of fat from my diet. So I'm eating mainly chicken, non-fatty fish, very lean red meat but only occasionally and then lots of good carbs through veggies and some fruits, very little starchy veggies, occasionally low fat cheese as a protein snack. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day. I also started a gall bladder/liver tonic and Super tonic both by Dr. Schultze that I think may be helping too. I think the tonics may be helping to get rid of toxins and making it easier for my body to function right. I even had dessert a couple of times this past week, something I very seldom do (although they were pretty healthy compared to normal desserts and gluten free also.) I think there is a lot of merit to trying a gluten free diet. I think that's one of the reasons so many people do well on Atkin's or The Zone, they basically eliminate gluten out of their diets. I did eat some stuff on Christmas day, cheeses and some dip with my veggies that make me feel kind of yucky, too much fat I think, after not eating much of it for a couple of weeks. I was very concerned about starting cortisol as I had already gained about 15 pounds from my thyroid whacking out, on top of the 20 pounds that I already needed to lose. I was fortunate though and I didn't gain any weight from starting HC. Am very interested in getting a far infrared sauna also as I keep reading that it's a very helpful way to lose weight and eliminate toxins at the same time. Linn On Dec 28, 2006, at 10:05 PM, C. Guest guest
Far Infrared saunas use heat therapy instead of steam. There are portable units available from about $200 to stand alone units for up to 4 for several thousand dollars. Far Infrared Sauna Therapy Health Benefits Far infrared saunas have shown to assist in weight loss, pain management, skin purification, detoxification and stress reduction . Far infrared saunas can also provide relief to patients suffering from arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and certain skin conditions. Solocarbon® Far infrared sauna therapy surrounds the body and penetrates deeply into joints, muscles and tissues, speeding oxygen flow and increasing circulation. Linn > What is a far infrared sauna? Guest guest
Linn: I did try a gluten free diet for months and did not notice a difference. I love bread so hopefully I am not gluten intolerant. I tested negative for celiac but my Lyme doc wishes I would cut out the breads. I also am interested in infrared sauna. I actually bought an infrared bulb from Home Depot and use it at times, shine it on my tummy. I also picked up a cedar closet with the plans to install a few infrared bulbs in it and climb in for a home made sauna. I currently use a medication for lowering cholesterol, tho that is not the aim, called Questran. It binds mold and Lyme toxins that bond to cholesterol and carries it out with the bowels. It is the Richie Shoemaker research to reduce mold toxins in the body. You are really very smart to stick to your diet. Wish I could do so. I seem to crave meats after years of being healthy, athletic and mostly vegeterian. -- Re: New diet , I had a naturopath do a diet consult from info I furnished him. Guest guest
, just got one of the portable units, maybe she'll see this and post how well she likes it. She purchased it from Ebay. My daughter's nutritionist recommends Sunlight Saunas as the best source. There are lots on the market. The type of wood they are made of is important and also the size and number of the panels. Not sure about the difference between infrared and far infrared, that's just the way it's described in all the literature. Linn On Dec 30, 2006, at 9:11 AM, C.
