Guest guest
Hi , If possible you might try the injectable MTX, it bypasses the stomach which eliminates the nausea and I think it actually works better. My new Rheumy prescribed the 50mg/2ml. MTX is NOT approved for more than one injection per vial, but my Rheumy feels you can either fill syringes with the dosage and keep them in the fridge, or make sure you use a new needle each time you fill a syringe to keep the vial from becoming contaminated. He actually said to me, If the pharmacist questions the dosage versus the vials, just say you throw the rest away. I inject 0.6 ml weekly, so I get a lot of weeks from one vial. It is much cheaper as well. 5 vials were $36.00. My insurance, Care First, decided it is a medical expense, not a prescription drug. FYI Methotrexate in MUCH larger dosages is used to abort fetus's that are in the utopian tubes, so woman of child bearing age should be aware of that possible side effect. I hope this helps.
