Guest guest
Hello friends. Had my last appointment with my urologist on March 19. This is 7 months post-op. Great news and numbers. PSA is 0.0, creatinine is 1.0, testosterone is 266. All were within " normal " limits. Am now on a 6 months term between check-ups. Still working on a bit of incontinence (OK if I stay away from caffeine and too much coffee or water!) and erectile issues. Improvement is evident. To everyone reading this, I encourage you to look at ALL of your options. Proton therapy would have been my choice, but insurance did not see it that way. No money to handle it myself. My wife and I spoke with urologists (more than one) and we discussed each treatment option they and the oncologists gave us. Surgery should generally be the last option used (as a pastor, I see many jump into surgery without looking further for any disease). Always get a second or third opinion before beginning any treatment plan. Talk to radiation and medical oncologists both and if possible visit a proton center. You will be impressed. The key to your recovery is your outlook. Have a positive outlook. Look at the bright side. Don't look for shadows. Have a great day!
