The other adrenal extracts, I've found, tend to be too mild. They are useful for some people - particularly those with milder versions of adrenal fatigue. I don't like the Licorice that is often added to adrenal extract combination products because it often leads to sharp drops in cortisol levels, leading to a person crashing with hypoglycemia and dizziness when Licorice's effect wears off. Licorice also often causes nausea. __________________ Any statement I make on this site is for educational purposes only and will change as medical knowledge progresses. Guest guest
Yes, 5 mgs. in the morning would be quite helpful. Many of the alternative docs are prescribing that dose for their fatigued patients. There is also no risk of adrenal suppression at a dose of 5 mgs., however, if you have severe adrenal insufficiency, then you need more. If it's mild, 5 mgs. should make a difference. Would 5MG of HC do anything?? Good morning all-- My adrenal numbers aren't horrible, but I have been on licorice and tons of Vitamin C for six months. Guest guest
>>Yes, 5 mgs. in the morning would be quite helpful.<< Sorry I have to disagree. I have NEVER once seen an instnce where 5MG HC helped anyone. Guest guest
Hi, I also have to agree, I can't think 5 mgs. would do much for anyone. If you have adrenal fatiuge,it would take forever for your adreals to heal on such a low dose.I'm not an expert,I'm in the middle of this myself.I do know that 5 mgs. would do nothing for me.LOL Debbie In NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS , wrote: > > >>Yes, 5 mgs. in the morning would be quite helpful.<< > > Sorry I have to disagree. Guest guest
Well, I guess i have to add my 2 cents worth here. I am on 5mgs once a day (take it in the mornign w. brkfst). And it is helping. I have been on it since the summer and boy does it make a difference for me. But each person is different and at a different level of adrenal fatigue. I also stress dose if i have to. Add just another 5mgs. in afternoon before 3 pm so it doesnt interfere w. sleep. I used to have a real hard time getting through the mornings and once i started on the 5 mgs of cortisol, i dont have those severe drops mid morning. Guest guest
Thanks, Thats the way I take mine.I had a stim test(I think thats what it was)and the doc told me I had very little adrenal fuction. He didn't want me to take anything.I found a new doc that I see on monday that I'm hoping will work with me so I don't have do this myself anymore.I just started iodoral, but something is still off.Hopefully this new doc will do a decent ammount of testing. Thanks Debbie- In NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS , philip georgian wrote: > > I feel anyone on less then 20mgs of HC or Iscort a day is not doing there self any good. Going by tests of cortisol 4 times in a day. If one is very low in the morning I feel they should do a higher dose of HC like 10 mgs. I am one of these that is low in the morning I wake up at 6am every morning so I take my armour 1 grain then eat a Protein bar because my sugar is low first thing in the moring. Then I take my 10mg of HC and go back to bed I get up at 8am and feel great better for me to let the pill work wile I am back to sleep. I take 5 mgs at noon with 1 grain of armour and at dinner I am doing .5 grains of armour and 5 mgs. of HC. As for stress dosing I do what Val says to do it's by the book. > Phil > > debbie wrote: > Mr.Georgian, What is the difference in the dosing?
