Guest guest
Well, this is probably not helpful, but I've been in avoidance mode all day. I need to pay bills and do bookkeeping, my least favorite thing in the world. I had some ice cream for breakfast (sound good?) and now I'm over that. So I've found all kinds of stuff to do. I have the TV on, I'm playing around on MySpace and Facebook, emailing all my friends and posting things on ebay to sell. Very productive, no? But I suppose I can get away with it since I work at home. Can you play around on the internet at work? It's always a great (or really bad) distraction for me. Posting here is another great strategy of course. How about making a list of all the things you would rather be doing? I used to do that at my old job. It got me excited about when I could leave for the day and then I had things to do instead of eat when I got home, too. Sorry, may not be much help but that's what came to mind. But I'm bored too! Want to do my bookkeeping? :-) Thanks! Gillian Gillian Hood-son, MS, ACSM Healthier Outcomes It's not just about losing weight! Want to eat your favorite foods without gaining weight? Right now, it is halloween candy that I don't even like which is around our office. Other times it's whatever I have at hand. I know I'm not hungry. In fact I was quite satisfied from my breakfast. Guest guest
Oh goodie! I'm not alone! I would much rather do your bookeeping than do warranty submittals - My techs often don't get me the proper info, or I have issues with certain manufacturers and I hate having to call them - urgh! But the good news, since I posted, is that I'm almost done for the day with my warranties. They had piled up a bit with being the 1st of the month, but I'm caught up now and only have one pending - not bad from where I started. And my munching has subsided. I did have a few Bottle Caps - decided if I was going to munch, to do choicefully and mindefully so I did. I'm just glad that I was able to recognize where this munching feeling was coming from because I knew I wasn't hungry. --Alana -------------- Original message -------------- Well, this is probably not helpful, but I've been in avoidance mode all day. Guest guest
I have the same little nasty beastie whispering in my ear like that too. And YEP! its usually due to facing an unwanted task. I agree with the avoidance assumption, but haven't gotten a handle on how to turn this into a more positive reaction (yet?!?) Hopefully someone successful will post ehugs, Katcha > > I think I've just had an A-ha thought and was looking to get some > ideas of how to handle.
