Guest guest Posted April 3, 2009 Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 Hi Everyone, My husband had 44 IMRT treatments. He finished in August and did very well. But now he has been passing blood, sometimes it was a little and sometime it would be a lot of blood. That scared us and we saw the doctor and he wanted a colonoscopy. They found that blood vessels were coming to the surface of the colon and breaking and he had to be cauterized. He was sick to his stomach and sore. The doctor said he saw more blood vessels coming to the surface but they weren't ready to break yet, so he may have to be cauterized again. He told me he would never go through that again. He had that done about three weeks ago and now he is passing some blood again. We are seeing the Oncologist on the 28th of this month and we will discuss this with him at that time. I just wonder if there is anyone out there who has had this problem so long after treatment. The doctor who did the colonoscopy told us this was all from the treatments.
