What I should be saying is that I stopped salting my food at the table. I decided to go vegetarian at the same time and was eating way too much cheese and not enough good protein for many years. I thought I was eating healthily! Hah! You live and learn eh Val? When I spoke to the GP about this over the range sodium, he said it was nothing to worry about, was not indciate of any problem, went on about bell curves etc and how it was probably 'normal' for me. Well, it was enough to make a cat sit up and laugh and I had to try very hard not to laugh into his face. Pity they don't take the same approach with other test results I thought! I found them not so bad as they sound but let the habit slip. Salt is vital to prevent excess saliva production to the point that it flows out of the mouth during sleep. Needing to constantly mop up excess saliva indicates salt shortage. 12.
