Guest guest
When I was on prednisone it made my sugar take a dive.I guess we are all different and it does pay to keep an eye on blood sugar when you are doing steriods (oops there's that bad word) of any kind. I do think though that us older gals/guys have been undiagnosed and untreated/undertreated for thyroid and adrenals so long that has possibly messed with our pancreas? I do not digest and use carbs well and I have to hold down to 20 carbs a day to lose any weight. My holistic doc. has me on Pancreatic enzymes.I really can't tell if they are helping anything..expensive though, lol Re: the radical self-care bunch Posted by: " " artisticgroomer@... valharly Date: Wed Dec 6, 2006 5:50 am ((PST)) >>Does that include high dosing Val?<< I am sure it does. The thing is you need to determine what is too high FOR YOU. At 30MG a day I was fine, but I was not testing glucose then, but from the way I felt I bet it was better then than now with no HC. On NO HC three years ago I had a fasting glucose of 325 so I am sure the most recent one is very similar to that. It struck me as odd when I read high cortisol raises blood sugar then I took HC again when first diagnosed with Diabetes while I WAS testing and it lowered my glucose. Not alot or enough but it was a marked lowering.
