it's making me worse.

Hi ,

I'm like you! I did give up coffee for a while but then gradually started to

drink one or even 2 cups in the morning. I just am able to get up and get going

better. I am feeling better these days so I don't think it hurt me at all. I

tried green tea but then everyone said that it had things in it that hurt your

adrenals. So we can't win.

Dr Lowe feels that a moderate amount of caffeine is not harmful. I never

gave up my coffee during my treatment and healing of adrenals and it did

not seem to hurt at all. As it provides a modest metabolism boost it may

even be helpful in SMALL amounts.

I too LOVE coffee. I had to switch mainly to decaf because of my

heart palpitation.

I mix one heaping teaspoon of regular coffee with two heaping

teaspoons of decaf. I use one of those little black filters that fit

over a big coffee mug and then I pour hot water through it. I have a

big mug of that in the morning then in the afternoon, coffee o'clock

which is 3:00, I add another heaping teaspoon of decaf. I get a

little more caffeine from the grounds I used in the morning but I also

get decaf. It is a compromise. I suppose if I were using a coffee

maker I would mix it 1/4 regular to 3/4 decaf. I have also heard that

organic coffee is the way to go but I can't find any organic that I

like. I use Cravens Coffee out of Spokane and it is great coffee!!!

One cup should be okay. As long as you aren't drinking colas too. A little bit

shouldn't do any harm. There is no real clarity amongst the doctors about this.

Try doing half decaf and half regular - no guilt there.

There probably isn't any clarity from doctors on this because so many

of us are affected differently. I'm having a difficult time with the

coffee thing too.

Like a, I've been using part caffeine and part decaf, it does give

me a little bit of a boost, but it's not a good boost. It makes me

feel agitated physically and i can get moody with it too. it's real

difficult dealing with this, because I really need a little boost to

try and get anything done, so it's frustrating for me wether to have

some or not, if I don't i drag even worse thatn the days i do have

some. It'ws also difficult that once I have a cup I want another :-)

like you said, you can't win...
