Distraction does not work with me. I have always found the all mighty

dollar to be a great incentive. Of course I know others' doctors would not

be tempted in the least by the money. After all didn't the doctors get into

the business to treat and cure others and not make , I might say, an

excellent living financially. I am sure the business concerns played no

part in their motivation to become a doctor. Do you really believe that?

I have no problem with a doctor who likes to make money as well as help

others. In fact I think it is a good combination.

Hmmm. Both my cardiologist and endocrinologist recommend that I take

Vitamins, Vit. C and fish oil tabs (instead of Vit. E).

The is a medication that I took when I had the shingles, but I don't

remember the name. It did help the shingles go away more quickly, but it

does not always work on everyone. I think because I diagnosed it quickly

(the nursing background), I got treated quickly, sot hey didn't get too

awful-they none the less lasted about 3 weeks and the shooting pain

associated with them lasted a couple more weeks after the pustules went

away.

However, the docs do not make money on the medication-unless they own stock

on the company that makes all the different medications they prescribe.

It's the pharmacy companies that make all the money on the over-priced

medications. I find it amazing that you can buy over the counter meds in

Mexico that are exactly the same as the prescribed ones in the USA-and they

cost 1/4 the price. I know people who drive to Tijuana to purchase large

bottles of antibiotics just to keep on had for their families. (I don't

really approve of this as they could endanger their lives by giving meds to

themselves or their family without knowing what the antibiotic could do) the

same is true of drugs from Canada. You might need a prescription for the

drugs from Canada, but the cost is so much lower than the same thing in the

USA.

AMA and drug representatives that do not use it at all. Medical doctors as

a general rule will not prescribe any thing unless it is sanctioned as

ethical medical practice by the AMA and their respective state's licensing

board. The last time I looked I have never seen a recommendation for any

vitamins in any quantities bby any medical association, federal or state

government. In fact you and any doctor would bve hard pressed to find any

research in any medical journal that reports any good research results using

vitamins and minerals or nutritional therapy. There is plenty of good sound

research to support vitamin therapies, but you will never see them in a

medical journal. Do you wonder why? I do. It is a known fact that

prescribing any thing other than drugs, surgery, radiation physical therapy

and a few other toxic things are not profitable. In other words there is no

money in it, that is prescribing vitamins. I urge you to seek out the

research and read it.

I know chicken pox and shingles is caused by a virus, and I also know there

is a cure for it, but it is really cheap, I mean really cheap. In a word no

money in it.
