Guest guest
Hi Phil, You are in MI too? May I ask where abouts? I'm in the Saginaw area. I work with a woman in nursing who used to work at Troy Beaumont. From listening to her, Troy Beaumont is supposed to be quite a prestigous hospital. Good luck on your appeal using BCBS. Basics...I always say our health should be about the basics. We told the ER that her Armour was raised and they said that will not do this. After they did every test BCBS would pay for they told us they could not find any thing wrong. This is the crap the ER does the next day she went to her Dr. and he told her to stop the armour so she was on this for about a week and stopped cold and she had not problems. It's too bad at the time the Dr. she was seeing did not know about low Cortisol and Thyroid. Now that I find I have the same problem here I am searching the web to help her and find I have the same problem. It's in the Dr.'s Desk Reference Book to allway test Cortisol levels first before treating thyroid because if your Cortisol levels are to low it can kill you. Yet they don't do it. Should I be concerned? Kathleen in Ct. Here. Hi all. I stopped armour abruptly recently because of two trips to the ER and Val's advise to stop all thyroid until my adrenals and cortisol started to build up. I was only taking Armour for a year (three years before that on Levoxyl) and I kept getting TSH's that were .08 with low average on T4 and T3. After putting myself through too much stress being chairperson of a reunion committee, I ended up in the ER twice with anxiety. My endo started me on Cortisol and every time I took it, I would get a thyroid dump from all the armour floating in my blood and it sent me into anxiety and to the ER. After two trips, Val and I decided (Val mostly) that I should stop all thyroid until I build my cortisol or the armour lowered in my blood. It took two weeks to feel better and stop the jitters. Then my labs come back that my TSH has gone from .08 to 99.1. Well the endo calls and tells me to start up armour again. That didn't work out, still gave me terrible jitters. So, I switched back onto Levoxyl for the last two weeks. I have only got myself up to 7.5 to 10 mg of HC during the day and I went from 25 mcg of levoxyl for one week and this week upp'd it to 50mcg. Well, mistake. I have to up the HC if I am upping the Levoxyl. So, I am back off Levoxyl for a while (2 days) until I lower it in my blood to up the HC, then up the levoxyl. I had another jitter session this morning and didn't go to the ER, but wanted to for a few hours. My blood pressure went from 110/70 to 143/85 to 149/111 and it went like that for an hour with temps of 99.6 to 100. It all finally calmed down in two hours and the BP went back to 128/70. The endo finally called at 7 p.m. this evening (about time) and he said, take more cortisol. Whenever I feel jittery, don't take any more levoxyl, take more cortisol. It is up to me how much and when He doesn't give me help with timing or amounts and he hung up and told me to stop whining. I hate being like this. I really can't stand it. Guest guest
Hi I live in Rochester Hills BCBS Blue Preferred Plus has a contract with BCBS and are not to bill us for what BSBC pays them and they did. So BSBC told us not to pay them they are in a contract with Blue Preferred Plus and agreed to the payment they get. I call this double billing they get payed from BCBS then send you a bill if you pay it they got away with it. When we called them they told us BCBS did not pay the bill I told them that is because BCBS is investigating the tests they ran up for someone there on to much Thyroid Meds. They said they made a mistake sending me the bill and to for get about it. I feel BCBS at through the Big 3 union Auto co. is on them hard about this. Phil Z wrote: Hi Phil, You are in MI too? Guest guest
Only for what its worth...for years I've surveyed people who suffered from bad sinus infections. The commonality between them was the use of sugar or corn syrup. It seems the sugar irritates the delicate sinus tissues, inflames them and makes them susceptible to bacteria/the bacteria that may otherwise be flushed out is encouraged to grow with the sugar. Peoples use of sugar ranged from two packets of sugar every AM in a couple cups of coffee, to 4 Mt. Dews a day to a candy bar, etc. Once they cut out that sugar, the infections stopped as well. Just something to consider. Is she back on Armour at a lower dose? Michigan philip georgian wrote: She just got back from her Dr. she has a sinus infection. Guest guest
We don't do sugar or corn syrup I also hear milk is not good and we don't do much milk. I am betting it's low cortisol and we chatch it from the Grand kids. She is not 2 grains of armour now with out any problems. Her Dr. is treating her Adrenals but with this para pack http://www.lements.com/metabolic.html#parapack 3 grains of Fish Oil and 25mgs of DHEA 2x's a day. I am suprised she is doing good on this. I keep telling her to do HC but she tells me the crap her Dr.'s tells her that this is a last resort. In a short time I am on more Armour then her. I found out I had this problem searching the net trying to help her ended up helping myself.
