Guest guest
Romy, Welcome to the group! My name is Sharon and I also quit smoking about 3 years ago and gained 35 lbs., so that is a big reason also why I am here. I wanted to lose 50 lbs. and have lost 9 since July 12th, so I still have 41 to go. It can be done! Sharon > Hi, > > I am a new member to this group and just joined today. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I am loving this group so far. We have about the same goal, except that you are 9 lbs ahead of me. Good for you. I did join weight watchers yesterday, but I am doing the online thing. This is where I get my motivation. I have a little " weight loss " secret to share. What I find works is when making a salad is not to add all of the (allowed) dressing on top. I find that filling the salad bowl up about 1/3 and then adding 1/3 of the dressing, filling it up another third - add dressing and so on - it helps the urge trying to add more dressing when it becomes " dry " towards the middle. I used the drench my salads in dressing, which, of course, I can't do anymore. So, this is my little tip for the day!!! Keep on going! You are doing great. Guest guest
Romy ( I love the name, by the way!), You will do great with this also. I went to the meetings for 2 times and then was too busy to continue. I have one again tomorrow night but am a " tight wad. " I figure why pay $12 a week to get support and be weighed when I am doing pretty well getting my support from here and weighing myself. Thanks for the tip. I love Arny's Jr.'s (which is a salad) and I will have to try that next time! You can do this! Just hang in there! Sharon > I am loving this group so far. This is an incredible group, you will gain so much supprt and encouragement. I look forward to helping and getting to know you on your journey. Zephyr new member introduction Good morning everyone my name is but just call me Rags. I am 33 and my birthday is 02-22-1969. I live in Florida and I joined Weight Watchers with my mom. I am on Week 3 and had my weigh in today and have lost a total of 10 pounds so far. My starting weight is 346 (unfortunately). My final goal weight is 135. I have a rotating work schedule so I will be weighing in on Tuesdays and Wednesday. In regard to my family I am divorced and have no children; I only have my Mom in my life. I have no siblings and my father is not in my life. My maternal grandmother is still alive but is a long distance away and my paternal grandparents are even farther away and grandma is sick. I used to have a cat but she recently passed away. I don't make friends easily cause I don't go out and party and I don't do the bar scene; but I would enjoy any friendships I could make from this list. I look forward to talking to you all; have a great day. aka Rags

Guest guest
Hi, My name is Tammie, and I just joined the group. I am currently being tested for diabetes. I have been blind since birth. I asked my Doctor to test me, because I am thirsty all the time, and am eurinating more frequently. On one hand, I think the tests will come back OK, but on the other, I am concerned, and would like to know for sure, especially since from what I have read, I am at high risk, because I am overweight, and am not very active. I am hoping to get my test results today. I look forward to hearing from all of you. Thanks, Tammie & Leska
Guest guest
tammy, my hat is off to your wisdom. It is better to investigate these two symptoms which are the most common in the discovery if you are a diabetic or not. I hope you are not but if you are you can treate it immediately. You are a very wise woman, smile. karen from canada New member Introduction > Hi, My name is Tammie, and I just joined the group. I am currently being > tested for diabetes. Guest guest
Welcome aboard. Post your test results here and let us know what your doctor recommends. You were right with those symptoms of yours to have your doctor test for diabetes. Stay informed and up to date. This is the place to do it. Guest guest
Dear Tammi, You have found a very caring, intelligent, well informed and supportive group!!! You are welcome here and even if you aren't diabetic, you may be pre diabetic and improving your food choices and portions could help you to never develop the ailment. I was diagnosed 11 months ago and coping with the changes I must make has been hard. I love this group for keeping me aboard, giving me the facts, but not piling on the criticism and contempt when I'm slow to comply with what I need to do to stay healthy. This group has kept me realistic without hurting my feelings, and I'm easily wounded so everyone has been very kind, indeed. Since keeping my glucose in a healthy range is a daily challenge I need this list to steady my resolve. There's so much good sense and support here I've never even toyed with the idea of trying out other groups, though I'm sure there are other good ones out there. By the way, I have no idea how long I was diabetic before my condition was diagnosed and damage could have been ongoing while I was ignorant of my condition. You are wise to check because the sooner you know what your body needs, the better. And, if you learn you aren't diabetic, that's splendid and you are still smart for going for the facts. Guest guest
hi yes you probably are the closet to me. I have never been diabetic but last time I had blood tests my sugar was 111. My doctor is concered as am I. I told him i wanted a chance to cut out sugars and crabs as I have been to diabetic classes with my husband who has diabetes. It is hard to think that I might be diabetic. I have always been a low sugar person sometimes to low of blood sugar. Is it possible to be low blood sugar with 111. I can't believe I could have diabetes. I will have a test to see if I am diabetic in February. this list is going to help me I know. Just from the comments I have heard while I have been a member. Guest guest
Welcome Tammie: I just re-joined since I've been nomail due to a very busy semester last semester, and this semester will be much lighter. Great to see you over here, long time no hear <grin> I am on the list to lurk and learn since I have quite a few friends with diabetes, and the more I learn the more educated I am. At least you took the precaution to get the test done, sometimes we have to, considering Diabetes is becoming more and more of an issue.
