Guest guest
I did not have a vaginal yeast infection ,but was dx. with systemic candida, and treated with Diflucan, diet, and probiotics. I've heard that you can make a paste with probiotics (open the capsules) and apply it vaginally. Thanks ! I'll google the probiotic paste. Were their certain things you had to avoid in your diet? Liz

Guest guest
Yes, sugar, bread, alcohol, high glycemic veggies, " white's " (potatos, flour, rice). Basically eat meat and veggies, that's about it. Guest guest
Plain yogurt applied vaginally using the inserters you get from the OTC meds will work also. Sorry - maybe TMI for some, but yeast infections are HORRIBLE so I want to help! We drink Kefir also - get the ones without corn syrup in them - and drink them on a regular basis and it will help with the yeast problems. C. Guest guest
I don't think you need to go off the HC. I've been on 30 mg. of HC and got rid of my systemic candida. I think its like anything else, they are talking about pharmacological doses of HC that can cause the yeast overgrowth. Guest guest
Hi Liz, Hope you don't mind my jumping in here. Unfortunately I'm one of those women who repeatedly gets vaginal yeast infections and I thought I'd share another natural method that's especially helpful for me when that whole " area " is itchy, inflamed and painful. I fill empty geletin caps with powdered Boric Acid that I buy from the drugstore and insert one vaginally at bedtime. The Boric Acid acidifies the vagina, creating a better environment for 'friendly' bacteria. You can insert an Acidophilus capsule at the same time (works as well as a 'paste'). The geletin caps melt and release their contents overnight. Suggest you insert the cap high into the vagina. It typically takes 3 to 5 days depending on severity of the infection (can take longer). Hope this helps. Carol

Tell me, when you say 3-5 days, do you mean 3-5 days of using the caps each evening to clear the infection (probably), or do you mean 3-5 days from the night of using one cap? And, do you have any brick and mortar suggestions as to where I can find empty geletin caps? Thanks for helping, Liz
