Guest guest
Sounds to me like you are already healing it is just taking a long time. Which it can. The best way to taper ff it is as slowly as you possibly can.BUT if not enough adrenal healing ahs taken place, it will be rough anyway. I hate to see yo ugo downhill and ruin your trip just to find out you simply need to go back onit for longer. And I have also not heard great things abotu doctors and thyrodi and adrenals from that part of the world. Anyway As soon as oyu are ready to start tapering, I would first lower the first AM dose by 2.5MG so you would be taking 7.5-10-5-5 then in a couple weeks lower the last dose by 2.5MG to7.5-10-5-2.5. then the second AM dose to 7.5-7.5-5-2.5, bak and forth holding each drop for 1-2 weeks. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV My Ebay Jewelry Store (Closing after Xmas!!!) http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I know what you are saying but I think I have to try. If I stick to 30mg until the end of January I will have approx 17 weeks before I fly. After 10 weeks I will be on 15mg (assuming that I hold each decrease for 2 weeks) I think by then I will know whether that is too little or not. If it is I'll probably decide not to wean off My daughter is worried about me, that's why she's offered to pay and she will be mortally offended if I turn her down. I think the other reason she offered to pay is this: last week she was admitted to hospital overnight because she's had excrutiating headaches for the last 2 weeks. Guess what they found? She's hypo!!! TSH 13 So now she knows what I've been going through. There's nothing like a shared experience to elicit empathy, is there?? Guest guest
I'm sorry too and I'm even more sorry that she's not ready to listen to what I have to say about treatment. Of course they've started her on syncrap. 100mcg to start with, is that usual to start with such a high dose? I think she may have had symptoms for quite awhile. She had a baby in July and has been breastfeeding, I think the normal post-baby tiredness made her think it was normal Lynda Re: Question re weaning off h/c > Oh so sorry to hear this, but it is certainly true. Guest guest
Hi Lynda comming off HC all that one can find out is if your Adrenals are working or not. From what I know about this your Adrenals don't put out or your Pituitary does not send the messages to make your Adrenals put out Coritisol. Yet the treatment is the same unless you have a pituitary problem. Then all that is needed is an MRI on your Pituitary. Dr. Jefferies tested his patients doing ACTH tests wile on 5mgs of HC 4 times a day. To me and I am not a Dr. all comming off HC will do is show you if you have Adrenal Fatigue due to it being Primary or Secondary. Still the treatment is the same. I am only saying this so you don't get upset if you can't come off HC. This in it's self shows you have adrenal fatigue. If one is told they have CFS and testing shows things are normal Jefferies still believes they need to be treated with HC starting at 5mgs. 4 x's a day. He had found most people that suffer CFS have a pituitary problem. Just my 2 cents. Phil Lynda wrote: I know what you are saying but I think I have to try. Guest guest
I started weaning off hc at the beginning of last week and was ok with the first reduction. Yesterday I did the 2nd reduction and am experiencing dizziness/lightheadedness - are these symptoms of reducing hc? Perhaps I should have waited 2 weeks between reductions instead of one Lynda Re: Question re weaning off h/c > Anyway As soon as oyu are ready to start tapering, I would first > lower > the first AM dose by 2.5MG so you would be taking 7.5-10-5-5 then in > a > couple weeks lower the last dose by 2.5MG to7.5-10-5-2.5. then the > second AM dose to 7.5-7.5-5-2.5, bak and forth holding each drop for > 1-2 > weeks. > > -- > Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV

Guest guest
Yes this would be symptoms from the reduction. It is fine to hold the doses longer, and then try again in another week or two. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Thanks, Val. The reduction yesterday was 2.5mg off the last dose of the day. It is now 12.30 in the afternoon here and I'm due a 5mg dose in about an hour. The dizziness has been pretty bad all morning even though I had 7.5mg at 5.45 and 10mg at 9.30 Do you think I should take an extra dose now or wait until 1.30 and take my normal dose then and also increase back up to 5mg for the last dose. I could hold on until 1.30 but even taking the normal doses this morning have not made a difference to the way I feel Lynda Re: Question re weaning off h/c > Yes this would be symptoms from the reduction. Guest guest
It sounds to me like it is too soon for you to wean at all., If that small a dose change is causing this I would raise it back up immediately before further damage is done. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I've just thought of something else. I didn't make the 2nd dose change until last night and yet I was dizzy yesterday morning. I had been ok for the whole of the previous week after the first dose change. Then I remembered that yesterday morning and this morning I had taken a multi vitamin & mineral that I had stopped taking quite awhile ago because I had experienced dizziness then and thought it might be the culprit. I keep telling myself not to change more than one thing at a time but I never thought about the multi. I'm going to go back to the hc dose that I was on last week just for another couple of days, drop the multi and then try the reduced hc again...and I won't change anything else (promise!)
