Guest guest
About 40% of those with Lewy Body Dementia (and a large percentage of those with Parkinson's Disease) have orthostatic hypotension (OH). Florinef is a common medication to address this debilitating symptom. Midodrine is another. Florinef works very quickly. Unfortunately Sinemet can lower BP. I believe one of Aricept's less common side effects is a drop in BP. So it's a balancing act with medication. There's a list of non-drug treatment for OH in this post on the LBDA Forum: http://community.lbda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4 & t=1944 Also, if your husband has surgery again, special precautions need to be taken, particularly if he has supine hypertension in combination with OH. > > Hi Everyone, > My Bob has been started on Fludrocortisone 0.1MG daily on Wednesday > the 21st, while hospitalized with a blood infection.
