Steady dosing is important. Every time you go up & down that is

additional adrenal stress you will pay for. I think you may well need to

go to 25MG but you need to commit to take the time to do this. I know

you don;t want to hear his, but temps are the ONLY way to sort out

adrenal and thyroid symptoms , and the individual ones don't help except

to know you are not hyper. I work full time too! I still do this along

with timing my meds and now the insulin too. Think of it this way.. If

you want (need like me) to continue to work you need your health. It

needs priority over the job even. Take potty breaks and take the

thermometer with you! LOL I am certain you are still hypo but I don't

know if your adrenals are supported enough to tell you to raise it.

Dana, can you get the digital thermometer that Dr. Rind recommends? I

think it was $12. It has its own plastic case, so it could slip into

your pocket or purse. Then you could just go to the restroom quickly

& take your temp. Keep a piece of paper & pen in your purse or pocket

& jot it down.

Or, maybe just do your best & take it (1) right before you walk into

work, (2) at lunch (3) right after you walk out of work. Not

perfectly ideal, but it will tell the story.

Dana, are you not up to the full 20mg yet, or did I misread? Are you

doing 10, 5, 5?

Hang in there...it's a really hard transition, especially since you're

working, but you'll get there.

Whatever you do, DON'T go off the HC abruptly! Then you'll have some

BIG problems.

Oh Dana,

I do feel your frustration! I started HC in October and am having troubles

myself, but I do agree, without the temp graph it's pretty tough to monitor

what is going on. I think 's suggestions sounded pretty good, but in

addition you might want to set a timer (cooking, cell phone, watch, what

ever works) to remind yourself to take it at the right time. I know that's

the only way I remember ... especially if I'm away from home ... but even

there also, LOL!

Hope you find something that works for you soon, and hang in there!

Val,

Please don't think I am taking the temp. taking lightly, I am not.

But, I am really hoping that my symptoms are important clues too. I

forgot to mention that I am getting headaches now, daily. And, my IC

is acting up. I did take a Diflucan pill about 4 days ago but, most

of this was going on before that pill. The headaches and other

symptoms started about 9 days ago. My job is not one that is

conducive to temp. taking.....I work in Grocery so my potty breaks

are not even at the same time of day. I work 8 hr. shifts and I

only get 2- 15 min. breaks thru the whole day, which is mostly taken

up by just eating something. (I wish I had addressed the Adrenal

issue before going back to work!) I am trying to hang in there, I

really am.....I just need a little more guidance?

Let's see: I was on isocort for about a month, then on to HC-- I was

on 5-5-2.5, for about a week or more, then: 7.5, 5, 5 (nightime 2.5)

and just recently moved up to 10, 5, 5, (and had to start stress

dosing then) so had to do 2.5 several times later in the day. The

stress dosing did not really happen until about week ago. (was

having some emotional stress at work too) So, the trouble began with

the stress dosing ,or- I am on too little or too much now?? What

dosage change do you think I should try at this point? I am a

patient person, that is why I waited 9-10 months to do this.....I

just cannot afford to miss ANY work and because I work with money, it

is getting more and more difficult to hold it together. I feel like

an idiot sometimes. (foggy, slow) Doesn't help that I recently got a

promotion and had to learn a ton of new things....grhhhh

p.s. I never had a thyroid dump, if that helps at all. My temp.

reached 98.5 at the highest. But, have only been on 1 gr. for 6

weeks now!

I really appreciate your taking the time to help me! THANK YOU

Dana

>>So, the trouble began with

Too much cortisol has NO short term effects ecept allowing the thyroidinto the

cells, LONG term os whjere you get side effects form too much cortisol and they

are Cushings symptoms. Most foplks go throug ha rough adjustment peiod as their

cortiosl rythym is being rearranged. tjhis is wehat the HC does ..rearranges the

cortiosl rythym. This is also why it is important to take the same doses at the

same times every day. If it were me I would hold your dose where it is unless

oyu get seriuous adrenal sy,ptos.. flu liek symptoms, nausea, unconrrollable

shaking. THEN stress dose immediately with 5MG.

Oh, Dana - You've got to hang in there! There are better days ahead - really.

One thing about your co-worker... I worked with volunteers a lot and often ran

into the type who had to put me down to make herself feel better (bigger?) - I

found that the best strategy for me was to be unfailing, publicly NICE to the

person. Complement her on anything you can find that she does well, always say

" Good morning, how are you today? " and wait for an answer, stuff like that. I

call it " nicing them to death. " The thing is, other folks begin to notice which

person is pleasant, helpful and cooperative and a team player and which person

is NOT! ;-)

Prayers are winging their way up that you find a solution soon - and I'm

looking for a watch with an alarm myself to remember to take the darn stuff!
