I tried Seriphos and it worked like a charm. When I got on HC, I stopped it

after a few days when my HC dose got higher. Then the sleepless in Florida

movie started playing at a theater near me and I just could not bring myself to

miss a single showing! LOL

Try some Seriphos. Dr. R sells it. I got mine here:

I've been on HC for 5 1/2 weeks, and Isocort for about 2 1/2 weeks

before that, and I still can't sleep!!!

I just don't get the " tired signal " at night. It's not that my

cortisol is high at night either, so far as I can tell. Up until a

couple of nights ago, I still needed 5 mgs of HC at bedtime so that I

didn't wake up after an hour with palps & heart racing.

I thought this would go away after a while on HC, but no luck!

Of course, I'm a hormonal mess overall, not just in the cortisol

department. Thyroid still not optimized, and who knows how low my sex

hormones are (I just started the 11-vial saliva test from

Diagnos-Techs, so I'll know that sometime next month if all goes well...)

Any ideas?

Two questions, how are you taking your Isocort and when, and what are your

temps? Have you been doing a temp graph?

I've been taking the PS for months now, which is what is in your Seriphos -

I don't take any isocort later in the day - afraid it could interfere with

sleeping - but I'm still not sleeping - the PS at least makes me a little

sleepy feeling earlier - I do get the pounding heart thing as soon as I lie

down - is that Palps?????

Should I take the isocort at night??? Would that not revue me up???? I've

been praying for years and years that something would finally kick in and

start working and that I would start to sleep...I'm soooooo tired. My

cortisol levels were mixed up - high at night and low in the morning.

No can do...my PM cortisol was not high. It's just been a couple of

days since I've been able to eliminate taking 5mg at bedtime, or would

wake up with palps & heart racing.

Thanks anyway, though!

Hi, Val,

I'm taking HC 10, 5, 5. 6:30am, 10:30am, 2:30pm

I was taking an additional 5 at night for one-hour-after palps & heart

racing, but I was able to eliminate that one earlier this week with no

problems at night.

My temps are still all over the place. Figured I'd hang on a bit

longer, since I stress dosed Thanksgiving weekend & the weekend before

that, which threw me off for a couple of days.

But then this week I started my period & I've REALLY been buzzing &

shaking with that - heavy bleeding & cramping again, but NOT as bad as

last time around, thank heavens - so I've been stress dosing again.

Yesterday afternoon I had my first blood sugar low I've had since I

started HC. (I think it's pretty obvious that I have no progesterone

to speak of...doing the Diagnos-Techs 11-vial test during this cycle

to get a fix on the sex hormones.)

I'll e-mail my temp chart again. Perhaps I just need more HC?

Mornings are typically my worst time. Seemingly minor stressors can

send me into a tizzy. Not a surprise, since my original cortisol

saliva numbers from 10/12/06 were:

7-8AM 3 (13-24)

11AM-noon 3 (5-10)

4-5pm 3 (3-8)

11-midnight 1 (1-4)

Also, I'm doing/feeling much better when I'm alone, but add in the 2

kids & husband, and again, it's easy to fall into a tizzy on the

weekends when everyone is home and hanging around in the AM.

Then on the other hand, maybe I should let it hang a bit longer? I

just don't know. This morning my son missed his bus & I just let it

go. (Of course I didn't have anywhere to be, and I could drive him &

it made it easy for me to run the errand I had to run, etc.)

And, I'm still getting the leg edema after my morning dose of

HC/Naturethroid runs out, and I'm not sure which is causing that.

I'll forward the temp graphs...

Thanks!

Got your chart and i would hold that HC dose pending seeing your sex

hormones results. You my still need a tad more HC but you are close.

Those damned periods are really messing your adrenals up, and no wonder.

Gads I m SO glad I don;lt havbe that problem anymore.. I still remember

25 years ago whne I had such horrible periods in between them I had

nightmares about it! LOL

Will do...thanks, Val! I think that overall it's a good idea to do

the wait-and-see approach, because I got kind of " hyper " when I took

the progesterone during my last period, so I suspect that when I add

in progesterone and/or iodine, I may need to adjust everything anyway.

Plus, since I'm on 3 grains, I can't adjust the thyroid meds until

right around that time too, since I need to wait 6 weeks to see how

this dose ends up.

> Those damned periods are really messing your adrenals up, and no

That's putting it nicely! Lately I don't think I can refer to my

period without dropping the f-bomb! LOL!

I understand the nightmares! I swear that I start shaking every time

I step into the loo, afraid of what's happening now! It's pretty bad

when your own period makes you queasy!

Thanks for everything, Val!
