Guest guest
Hi my Dear Family, Well, it seems that the only time I get on line is when I have problems. But please know that I think of you all often and try to read as often as my condition allows. Right now, we are in the midst of getting ready for my middle daughters graduation from high school. Due to her limitations (she has cerebral palsy with some mental challenges) she will be going to vocational school and coming back to her old high school in the afternoons for more hlp n her scholastic subjects. On July 9, my oldest daughter is getting married. What is left of the family will be coming to Florida for the wedding. It is going to be a very small wedding but elegant. Vickie will be married in our home church and then we will go down to the beach for the reception. The man she is marrying is very nice and rounds out the family nicely at this time. Unfortunately, I won't be able to " walk " her down the aisle, but the girls keep telling me that as long as I am there, they will take me anyway they can. They have temporarily taken we off my antibiotics to " see " what happens and last Saturday night, I started running a temp of 104. Once again, my brain was affected, recognized my family, but could not remember my address and other things. As we were about to go to the ER, my temp broke and it was as though it never happened. Brain activity and other functions were the same as before, but started to have symptoms of a bladder infection. Called the nephrologist on Monday and they did a culture and started me on Bactrim. I am now experiencing numbness in my feet and hands and my blood sugar won't drop below the 200's. Called the ortho and he didn't think it was related to my knee. I will call the nephrologist on Monday but I am pretty scared with these new symptoms and wonder where or when this will stop. The ortho still wants to put a rod in my knee/leg for stability. I am not too keen on any surgery at all at this time. I am still not on any disease modifying drugs at this time.. Just me and my prednisone ! Throw in a few pain pills and muscle relaxants and that about sums up my life. I thank God each and every day for my wonderful daughters and the help they provide me physically and emotionally. I also thank God for all of you and pray that your pain is manageable and that you are all blessed with supportive friends and family. Gentle, tender angel hugs to one and all, Debs in FL
Guest guest
Hey Debs, glad to see you posting!!!! I'm so sorry that your health is so poorly, and you are having so much problems. I wish the doctors could do something to get you feeling better. Are you thinking about taking some different meds for your RA? I think it would be a wise choice, get you moving again. The Humira and Methotrexate is beginning to help me. I do have a bad leg, and hope to find out what's going on with it. Wow, congratulations on your girls!!!!! I know you are so excited, they sure do grow up fast. Let us know how it all goes, and get some pics. I will keep you in my prayers, Deb. Guest guest
glad to hear from you debs, sorry you have been feeling bad again. don't you hate it when they mess with your meds? i've been sick with a sinus infection for the last week after fighting a flare since the beginning of the year. today i almost picked a fight with 2 neighbors. came home called the dr and found out it was from the meds they gave me. makes me feel so much better. i was beating on my neighbors door this morning to move their car from in front of my house. i chewed all my fingernails off and got 3 infections on my fingers now. my eyes and nose ran for 4 days and my face is so raw. i went to work frday long enough to hear my boss say ok, you're not faking. i think of you all often kathy in il
Guest guest
Debs, I'm really sorry the news isn't better. I wish your local physicians could put everything together and give you some better solutions than they have been. This has been going on for so damn long. That's exciting news about the graduation and wedding. Congratulations! I pray you'll feel well enough to enjoy them both. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
Debs- Good to hear from you. I think of you often and it is good to see you are posting again. Big hugs. Guest guest
Hi everyone! This may be a Fibromyalgia question..it's a symptom I've probably had in the past but not in quite some time. My right arm is really sore today (I did some things yesterday to help my mom as a surprise that's an absolute no no on my limitations from my doctor). I used the leafblower and then a shovel to bag a few leaves for about a half hour. Today my right arm is really sore, can barely lift it to and when I do straighten it out its really trembling and shaky. I've been very sedentary the past year. I used to walk on the treadmill atleast 10 minutes a day at a slow pace if I could manage it, and I would sit and do 2 lb handweights. I'm sure my muscles are in very bad shape and that I just overused it. My second question is: I have bilateral joint effusions on the knee and that seems to be the major source of my early RA stages at the moment. My right one is in a bad flare (a few months ago it was the left one). I've been having trouble in the morning with the side of my right foot being really sore. It's been very painful to walk and both feet have been really sore. Anyone ever have this happen? Or have any idea if the rheumatologist can help? Thanks so much for all of your input! I learn so much here from all of you! I keep everyone in my prayers that one day we are closer to cures! And I repeat the mantra " Pain is weakness leaving the body " and " this too shall pass " even though I feel like a herd of elephants ran me over:) I've been a member of an FMS group for five years and I have to say that I've learned the most here and have read the most compassionate, supportive replies and post and am really thankful to be a member of this group:) Bless you all:) __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I am also having a bad flare in my right foot. it is constantly swollen & sore. it never seems to stop. the only thing that seems to help a little bit is to lay on the floor & prop my foot up on the sofa. of corse getting up off the floor after being there a while then turns into a whole other problem. Bless you & I hope you feel better, & maybe this might help you a little --- stephanie <stephieann2@...> wrote: > Hi everyone! > This may be a Fibromyalgia question..it's a symptom > I've probably had in the past but not in quite some > time. Guest guest
Thank you so very much Marie! I will try that! I don't see the rheumatologist again until December, unless I can't wait that long and then she will fit me in to see her. I'm going to print out one of those blank skeletal drawings I have seen and start marking on the body where its hurting. So far, the inflammation has always just been the knees but this month, its wrists, elbows, a certain finger and even toes..but that foot has me thrown for a loop since we have to stand and walk on them:) --- Marie Homan <marieannett2269@...> wrote: > I am also having a bad flare in my right foot. it is > constantly swollen & sore. it never seems to stop. > the > only thing that seems to help a little bit is to lay > on the floor & prop my foot up on the sofa. of corse > getting up off the floor after being there a while > then turns into a whole other problem. > Bless you & I hope you feel better, & maybe this > might > help you a little > --- stephanie <stephieann2@...> wrote: > > > Hi everyone! > > This may be a Fibromyalgia question..it's a > symptom > > I've probably had in the past but not in quite > some > > time. This is exactly what would happen with me with my fibro, and it probably wouldn't even have to wait until the next day to start with the arm trembling.
