I can't answer your question, but maybe Val can. See, this seems to be the

problem with getting a doctor involved, you need almost constant communication,

perhaps weekly visits. I think this forum may suit others better if your doctor

doesn't have email or won't talk to you on the phone regularly. It just seems

like we need constant guidance with this condition.

I just saw a doctor a few days ago, he's alternative and prescribes

both cortef and armour. I talked to him about how I was taking it (as

outlined here) and that I wasn't feeling any better yet. He had some

suggestions on tweeking it a little, but I forgot to ask him how to

make the changes, in what steps. Val, I'd appreciate your input since

I won't be able to see him again for a while. He gave some

suggestions and said I should experiment, but I really want to make

the changes slowly.

Since I was almost out of cortef, I started making thyroid changes

first. He said instead of taking my second dose of armour 5 hours

later thatn the first, he suggested I try it 12 hours later than the

first dose.

I wasn't sure wether to make a jump to 12 hours, so the last two days

I've taken it 9 hours later. Should I go ahead now and jump to 12

hours later, or stay on 9 hours for a few more days?

Thanks Val,

have you or anyone here tried taking the second armour dose 12 hours

later? I think it will be harder to do because I'll be more likely to

forget to take it at 7:30pm than at 12:30pm, the later in the day the

more tired and forgetful I get.

I have trouble sleeping at night, my concern is that taking thyroid

that late in the day might make it harder to sleep, do you think that

could be the case? Does taking thyroid give you energy around the

time of taking it? I haven't noticed so far.

Hi ,

I forgot to ask him 'how' to make the changes, like what to do first.

,

How do you split it up, how many hours apart? If twice a day doesn't

help me, then I'll try more times a day as well. I have a lot of

trouble sleeping, hopefully this will help.

Elyse,

I'm not , but I have found if I take Armour too close to

bedtime, I will not be able to sleep. I used to take it at bedtime

(before I found STTM and these groups) and for years had wicked

insomnia. Once I stopped taking it at night, added iodine and

progesterone I started sleeping great. Have continued to sleep great.

This is going on 2 months now.
