I've never heard of the heterogenous thing, and would also like to know what that means. Haven't seen it discussed on any of the fibroid websites, either. This difinition comes from a medical dictionary. I did have a biospy done of my fibroid, since the doctors where concerned how fast my fibroid grew. My fibroid was intramural - anterior wall. The type of biopsy I had done was a punch biopsy where they use a special punch gun that has a needle on the end to get pieces of the fibroid, the radiologist told me that he would only had to do it 2 to 3 times to get enough sample but with that punch gun he could not get enough tissure so he resort to fine needle aspiration of the fibroid tissue, actually the biospy was done through my stomach. That's why she suggested the mri. She said this could be a malignancy or it could be the fibroid, or it could be another fibroid. I still can't believe that three docs ignored this.
