hi everyone, i am wishing you all speedy recoveries and good luck for your surgeries

Unfortunately for me adoption is not something my hubby will even discuss with me, and it way more expensive than ivf also. I also have heard some bad experiences with moms reclaiming babies, or ex boyfriends, so scary. It is not something i can even delve into myself, but i give you much credit for those who are trying and pursuing. I just read a huge article in people about celebrities adoption , it said rosie o donnell paid 5 different lawyers from $1000-$5000 each to help her and that was for a year before even getting her 1st baby. Oh my.......,Well anyhow , in my long battle to get kaiser for what they did to me( causing me ashermans in 2/99) i received a letter back today from the Dept., and it says this:

Your complaint concerns a D & C, procedure during which you hemmorhaged and lost blood. You were hospitalied and received 2 blood transfusions immediately after the surgery. The physician who performed the surgery asssured you that you would not have difficulty becoming pregnant as a result of having suffered these complications. You have been diagnosed with Ashermans Syndrome which you beklieve is a result of the overly aggressive D &

C. You have requested that kiaser provide coverage for ivf. Your complaint raises issues about the performance of a medical provider, over whom the Dept. does not exercise direct authority. We lack the authority to determine or enforce medical provider liability or to directly impose censure or to award damages. However, the issues raised in your complaint wil be reviewed by the Dept to determine whether any action against Kaiser is warranted. Additionally, we are required by law to periodically conduct onsite surveys of health plans to ensure that they are complying with their quality assurance responsibiities.

Based upon the informations submitted, we also find that kaiser failed to respond to your complaint with 30 days of the date you filed a grievance,

The fact that you have submitted a complaint for review does not prevent you from pursuing, nor is it a substitute for, any other formal or informal legal proceedings or remedies that may be available to you. In order to determine the other remedies available to you, you may wish to consult an attorney for more information. Complaints regarding physicians may be directed to: The Medical board of california.

Ok, does anyone out there have an attorney in the family that can tell me with this information can i now do something. I have spoken to attorneys before but not before i got this letter. Basically they are saying that they are going to review the matter on thier own now against kaiser. But in my case they are done with me cause they cannot award damages. Also i am going to now go to the medical board against the dr. Sooo if anyone has an attorney in the family or a friend can you see what i can do with this new info i have. Talk to you all later.. time to call the medical board. judy
