Hello moseart@...,

In reference to your comment:

ð the nursing shortage here is unbelievable.

Thanks, its unbelievable here too, but, i need a desk type job, something

sitting/standing but not on my feet the entire day like a hosp job would be.

I can't do hospital or home care cuz i can't lift more than 15 lbs, and can't

bend.

Due to a back injury. the jobs i would likie to do, that i'm qualified for,

are not willing to even interview me cuz of my lack of working over the last

few years...

I think getting a CDE certification would be an excellent thing to do,

...you'd be in a good position to Spread the Lowcarb Word too (It was

a CDE who got me started on lowcarbing too). And it wouldn't be hard on your

back, smile.

You could ask a CDE where she got her certification...or you could check with

your local college or nursing school. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hello cprcarol@...,

In reference to your comment:

ð maybe you could count your on-line time as diabetic

ð clinical counseling time towards the CDE.

I'm also thinking maybe, depending on legality, i could do online work as a

CDE.... not that i'd charge folks like on this list... but i could set up a

web page and do online/phone counseling about diabetes?

first things first... go find out about the education required... :)

check the internet - monster.com, also medzilla.com is a medical

search engine. Look for jobs in clinical data, clinical trials, drug

companies, insurance companies etc.

They are now hiring lots of nurses for office jobs. Some of the one's I know

follow patients in a clinical trial for drugs, call patients when the

insurance has an out of control diabetic or other diseases. Just being a

nurse and the medical terminology will get you in the door. I would tell

them about the list and the wonderful work you do on the lists.

Let me know if you need help. Where do you live? I may have some suggestions

depending on where you live.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I don't know anything about

Albany. But, I would look on www.Monsterboard.com and Medzilla.com for

data/medical/pharma jobs. I know alot of these companies use nurses. Tell

them about the work you do on the lists. They need people with medical

knowledge that know computers and can communicate with people.

Good luck and keep me posted.
