Guest guest
What would happen if anything if Asherman's is left untreated? I have had several surgeries to correct my uterus and we tried ivf, but my RE suggests not trying again unless doing a laparotomy. I trust her, I think I will try to get a second opinion with Dr. Valle, my RE said she would write him a letter for me. I do not want to do the laparotomy. Right now I am not getting a period, this is just the second month after ivf, but my lining was not good then either. So.....I'm going ot go on Provera for ten days and if I don't get a period, and decide not to do anything else, what would be the consequences? Will the Ashermans get worse? I might decide to do the laparotomy in a few years, I'm only 25, but right now I don't want to be on anymore medications or have anymore surgeries (I had five in less than two years with the scarring reocurring over and over again) anyway, I was just wondering what would happen. Guest guest
Oh judie, you sound just like me!!!! My ashermans actually got worse after my 2nd tri mc... then i tried one last surgery.. it helped a little but my RE said i would need another ( at least) with no guarantee,,,, that it would do the trick eitehr.. i always have scar tissue return.. plus my linng is so shot. As my email stated i am doing surrogacy.. during all those stims ( produced a lot of follicles and they retrieved 15).. my lining was still very thin,, so that just reinforced the fact that i am doing the right thing.. all that estrogen ( gosh my level was probably close to 2,500.. and all those follicles ) ... my lining did not even thicken up . i would be interested in what you find out about not treating it, but i hvae been told by 2 different RE's that it would not hurt anything.. that the only reason to treat is for pregnancy /conception reasons.. i think since my lining is so shot.. that is why i don't get period too.. maybe a spot, but not thi s month.. just cramps.. ughhhh.. let me know if you find any other answers ( i think i have read that as long as you are not bleeding and cervix is blocking it from coming out,, it is not a health risk.. janet
