Guest guest
Dennis,.....I'm so sorry on the news about Betty. I don't know a lot about MD. What are the docs able to do? Will cateract surgery take care of it? Please, know that I'm going to keep her in my prayers. Please, give her a big hug for me, and wish I could do more. Take care, Tawny

Guest guest
Hi Dennis, My chiropractor/kinesiologist, who is in his 70s, told me that he was diagnosed with macular degeneration. He asked his opthalmologist if there was anything he could do to help it, or slow the progression. His opthalmologist told him to eat lots of berries, fruits, and to take antioxidant supplements like alpha lipoic acid, co q-10, etc. When he went back for his two week check-up, his opthalmologist was shocked, and told him that it had reversed itself, and he asked him what he had been doing. My chiropractor told him that he just followed his instructions. (He told me that apparently the doc didn't believe his own advice!) Guest guest
This is not good at all, Dennis. What next for you? The one suggestion I would make is to start taking a supplement called AREDS. (I take Bauch & Lomb PreserVision) I was just diagnosed with the start of macular degeneration, and this is what my ophthalmologist suggested. She said there have been studies that showed that this mix might slow down MD. I sure hope so, my Mom had MD and no way am I looking forward to it. She also gave me a chart to put on the refrigerator, and to check every morning, with the warning to come in immediately if I noticed a change. I hope things get better for both of you! Guest guest
Hi, BJB, and welcome to our family. So far, her eye doc is supposed to contact the Lighthouse for the Blind for help fund her bills or whatever else they can do, and he's making arrangements for her to see a specialist. I hope she quits having things fall apart. She's catching up with me as far as disability is concerned, but I hope I can get her back in some kind of shape now that she won't be sitting a 3 year old where she didn't have to do much physically. Time will tell. Dennis in Eastexas " It's not Rocket Surgery " [ ] Re: On top of everything- > Hi Dennis--BJB here.
