Guest guest
Hi everyone, Again, thank you so much for everything. Here is what we learned. T1c Gleason breakdown as follows. Right side 1 - 6 Negative Right Side 7 3+4 with perinural invasion present, >1mm away from fatty tissue 90% 8 3+4 85% 9 3+4 70% 10 3+4 70% 11 3+3 50% 12 3+3 35% I think my husband got the % wrong over the phone, or nurse did. Doctor said he does not think it has left the prostate, however if it did right now it would be just outside of the prostate. He also said there is always a chance that it could have spread, but for now that is a low chance and because of the early stage a bone scan is not really needed. But, if he chooses radiation they do a scan anyway to look at the organ placement and getting a starting picture. As for treatment, my husband weighs approx. 330lbs. He said he can not opporate on a man that has a BMI over 30. So, he suggested The hormone shots, radiation and seeds. This has really upset my husband because he really just wanted the surgery to get it out. The doctor said there is a doctor here in Colorado that may be willing to try the surgery on him, but with risk of brain damage due to his weight. He is afraid that if he does not do the surgery he will not make it. I have read that the stats between surgery and radiation are simlar. The other bad thing is if he does radiation he can not hold our 10 month old son during the treatment. If he does choose radiation, I was looking at the Cancer Treatment Center of America and they have a treatment called Calypso 4D Localization with a good success rate. Now, I guess we are looking to find the best treatment option for his case. Again, any advice is greatly appriciated.
