Howdy Y'all,

I'm already getting into my " Phoenix " ego in anticipation of

vacation!!! BTW, I was born and raised there - moved to Minnesota back

in 1989.

Anyway, the reason for this post is to remind our seasoned members, and

to mention for our newer members some group " rules " (gee I hate that

word!).

SUBJECT LINES: Please try to make sure that the subject line in your

post actually describes the contents of your post. I know how easy it is

to just keep responding to other posts and not think about the subject

line. After 20 or 30 responses to the same post, the contents often have

ceased to relate to the original subject at all. I have to really make

myself think about it in order to remember to do it.

ONE LINE RESPONSES: I know that sometimes all we have time for is a

quick, " Yes, me too! " , " Thanks, I appreciate that! " or even a " Are you

REALLY that stupid??!?!! " However, with the volume of e-mail that goes

through this list, it would be helpful to avoid these one-liners. As an

alternative, please try to combine several one line messages into a

single post and just address each person within the e-mail. Today is

March 12th and we have already had over 900 posts for these 12 days

alone.

TRIMMING YOUR RESPONSES: This is the fun one! I tease my wife about this

because she has a friend that she e-mails to on a frequent basis. I

don't think they have ever started e " new " e-mail in the years that they

have been writing each other. They just hit " reply " and start typing.

The last time my wife sent one out, I swear I saw the Sun itself dim for

a moment as our ISP tried to collect all the energy it could to push

that weighty tome along it's e-path! WHEW! On a more serious note... Try

to delete the portions of your replies that have no connection to your

response. An example would be all the Ads and Links at the bottom of

each e-mail. A good way to get into this habit is by " inserting " your

responses to a post just below the comment you are responding to and

then deleting the rest of the text.

NOW PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING ... This is not meant to discourage

anyone from posting - especially our newer members who have so

graciously begun to jump in. No one is going to get " get in trouble "

over these issues if they forget. I know I will forget from time to

time. That's the beauty of our disease - we can blame it on out-of-whack

blood sugar!!!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU - each of you have contributed so much to this list

and have made it very successful!

I'm going to post this today and then again on Sunday night (if Yahoo is

indeed back up). I wanted to get it out before I left, so I'm doing ti

twice just in case. I will probably post a modified form of this message

from time to time throughout the year just as a gentle reminder to us

all.
