Guest guest
Hi Ann, Regarding Remicade and costs ... have you spoke with Remicade's patient assistance program? I was unemployed for 3 months and still had insurance coverage but couldn't afford my $100 copay for my infusion. Remicade's manufacturer, Centocor, approved me for patient assistance for 6 months at no charge. They even paid for my 1st treatment after I started a new job because my new insurance had a 2 week waiting period to approve Remicade, which would have interrupted my schedule. They realize that only millionaires can afford to totally pay for it. Even if your insurance company refuses to let you try Remicade they will pay for 1 year -- usually the insurance companies change their mind. What do you have to lose by asking? Good luck, Steph in VA i'm on enbrel. i was on for 5 years, then it stopped working.went to humira, it made me so sick i had to stop.doctor wanted to put me on remicade, with my ins. it will cost me for the first month 2000.00, each additional month 600.00. out of my reach.so i'm back on enbrel, predisone, pain pills. i have blue croos and blue shield. my payment is 50.00 a month.ask your doctor enbrel had a program out for first time users. first 6 months they will pay full co payment, second 6 months they will pay half of your co-payment. good luck ann from nj ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 2007 Charlottesville Arthritis Walk was a success!
